we're looking at a cruise on the infinity from valparaiso, chile, to buenos aires, argentina in dec. of 2009. have a question and hope someone can help!

i'm having problems finding what airport one flies into if leaving from valparaiso. some search engines i've tried list the airport code as VAP and others don't seem to have heard of the airport.

also, anyone been on this cruise and have a general impression to share? thanks!

Ditto what Chick's Pal said.

SCL= Santiago (Valpariso)----A good hour's drive away from Valpariso

EZE=BA----A good hour's drive away from downtown BA.

The South American Ports of Call board is the place to go for info on this cruise. Consider stopping in Lima, Peru and going to Machu Picchu on your way down. This will add 4 to 5 days to your trip. And, consider visiting Iguazu Falls after arriving in BA.

Did this cruise in Jan 2008

Dramatic scenery, gives the whole trip a sense of adventure.

Take a whole range of clothing as the climate changes during the trip.

There is a lot of tendering which could be problematic as the ship only had one Xray machine to check you back on board.

Take care in BA as in the pre cruise hotel there were many tales of muggings and distraction thefts,do not carry a camera in view.

All in all a great cruise get a cabin midships if you can.

Read the S American board on this site, we picked up several private trips from that and no one let us down.
