bryan41 Posted December 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2008 Hey All, Heres the scenario: We're scheduled to go on Pearl 1/25/09 sailing. We had a late edition to our cruise party and I'm not sure that they'll be able to get on as tihs sailing looks pretty booked up. I'm wondering if its possible for us to move to the Dawn 1/24/09 sailing without losing what we've already paid. Is this possible? Anyone ever have to do this? Thanks! booklady26 Posted December 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2008 I don't think it would matter that you'd be rebooking on another ship in the fleet. I'm going to guess that it would be a considered a cancellation of your Pearl cruise and you would be subject to penalties.
bryan41 Posted December 23, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted December 23, 2008 Thanks for the response...yeah I could definately understand that. I just thought that I would check with the NCL experts!
cliffd64 Posted December 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 23, 2008 Transferring a reservation usually does not incur any fees other than differences in price if any... Now, alot of it depends on whether you booked directly or through a travel agent. If you went through a third-party agent rather than directly with NCL, it can complicate the matter... Back when Katrina hit the Big Easy, we changed from a New Orleans cruise to a Miami cruise on a different NCL ship and incurred no penalties whatsoever... The caveat was we had booked directly with NCL and it was no big deal to apply our payments to another cruise...
garycarla Posted December 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2008 The New Orleans situation is very different than what the poster wants to do. You should call NCL and see if you can get somebody that would work with you. Since you have already made final payment, the penalty could be SEVERE. And, you might get lucky and find somebody to work with you. As to the original ship being sold out, sometimes there are still cabins somewhere. Call and let us know you find.
