5 in one cabin?

You have very limited options. Two cabins will be cheaper but you can book an AB Penthouse for 5 on all the newer NCL Ships Star ->Gem. You can also book an A3 Courtyard Villa on the Jewel,Pearl, Jade, Gem.

Then there is always the 5000 square foot Garden Villas for $25,000

Thank you! This helps!

I do think we'll opt OUT of the Garden Villas!

Which ship?

I know there are some inside staterooms that are set sideways. They appear to be popular choices for larger families.

OOOH I would love to know which ship offers these for families.

Thanks!

It kinda depends on the kids. We just did a cruise on the Pearl, obstructed view cabin. It had a queen, a twin sized trundle bed, and a twin sized flop down from the wall bunk. The queen/trundle made into what almost looked like one really wide bed, it was wall to wall, with only 'bout two inches in between. So if at least one kid can sleep in the top bunk, and others can sleep close together, it is doable. We had three adults with no problems at all...

We always get the A# garden Villa with our 3 79 year olds. The proximatity to the courtyard makes it easier- much easier - than the suites not in the Courtyard Villa. Also, being in a CV gives you access to a third potty really quickly- the ladies room is right near a small pool. the suites hae their own hallway with a door leading into the courtyard, so there is NO noise from anyone running up and down the halls. We have done the 2 bedroom suites on Disney 4 times and on RCCL twice with the kiddies, but the CV's have been the absolute best for us. The balocny and room aren't as big as other lines, but the safety issue is adressed well.

Plus the master bath is KILLER!

We have always had butlers and stewards who treated our children so well- hangig their draeings on the , leaving extra treats---we are so spoiled now that I will probably hate our rccl suite in June! ( NCL doesn't do carribbean in June)

We looked at all the options , and have stuck with the CV a3. It is worth everyp enny, you can have privacy and be pampered.

Sory about the bad writing- I got a concussion this mornign and my fingers aren't working so well- darn icy driveways!

my main concern would be having only 1 bathroom. getting ready for the day would be a problem to say the least.

Thanks for all the help!

My kids are going to be 5, 4, and 1 for the cruise that I am starting to research/plan for. I did get some prices for a couple different sailings. With the list that was given above, I was under the assumption that we could put us into a Balcony on the one ship listed (Dawn? I can't remember off-hand) but everything I have researched is putting us into a suite.

The suite does sound addictive, as mentioned, but I'd hate to start teaching myself that side of cruising! LOL Are there ANY ships we can put 5 into an inside or a regular balcony?

Thanks for everyone's help!

Why yes I did!

And when I went online to price it out and see available cabins the only thing that came up were suites. Maybe I should have clarified in my last post a little more - but thanks for pointing that out to me again!

It looks to me that if you're going to limit yourself to a balcony or below that will accomodate 5 people, the above are your choices. You may have to shop around for a sailing that still has one of them available. Are you locked into dates, or can you be flexible?

If you call NCl directly, they may be able to put you in a cabin that says that it's for 4 people, since one of the "people" will be sleeping in a crib. We stayed in a 2 person cabin before with our infant (3 people total). The NCL rep was able to force the reservation through.

I think a balcony cabin would work well for you, especially on the ships that have the pull out couch. The 4 and 5 year olds could even sleep together on the pull out.

Good luck!

I think that is what I am going to have to do.....call NCL. I've tried several searches with different dates and they are all putting us in a suite. I didn't know that if I called in that maybe they can override it? The youngest still sleeps in a playpen.

We were really interested in Majesty because it sails out of our home port but it didn't even offer a suite on that one. Just got a "no go" type of error message.

Thanks for your help!

If Majesty is what you are looking for, the above quote helps you:

N. Majesty

Look for the symbols on the deck plan that show which are quads. The problem with Majesty is that her cabins are very small. Check the square footage as you look at cabins before you jump on a 108 sq ft cabin for 5. There'd be no where for the crib. We had a 145 sq ft cabin with a pullman for a 3rd pax. It was a CC. Perhaps some of them hold 4. I suppose there would have been room for a crib if it would roll so you could move it out of the way. I'd think it would need to be removed each day and put up each night.

We were in an oceanview for 5 on the Sun, deck 8, I think. It had the regular bed, the long sofa that made into a queen sized bed and 1 drop down berth. This would be fine for you and your kids. I will try to find a picture.

Personally, we would never book small children into a balcony stateroom. ... I have visions of the little ones climbing on a chair and over they go!

Excellent! Thank you so much!

Did you book this through NCL or a TA? It's not allowing me to book anything other than a suite online.

We have taken the kids in a balcony cabin before but we do make sure we lock the door when we're not on the balcony.

Have a great cruise!
