Booking a private tour on HAL

HI ALL, would like to book a private tour for SKAGWAY next Aug/September as we are travelling on the Zuiderdam. My question is if the ship gets in at 7am and the tour starts at 730 am what are the chances of getting off the ship in time? Have only cruised p and o and Princess from Australia and they have both given preference to people on their tours to get off first. What is the system with HAL please. Do I need to get up at the crack of dawn and get in a line? Kerrie from downunder

Although your itinerary says that you get to Skagway at 7:00am, you actually get there between 4 and 6 sometime, so getting off for a 7:30 pickup is no problem. In other ports, though, it's true that you line up to get off and ship-booked excursions get off first.

With any independent touring, ALWAYS verify the times with the tour operator and take their recommendation for timing.

There are several independent companies doing this bus/train trip and the only problem that you would normally have is if you were to be the one to sleep in:eek:
