Louise45 Posted January 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2009 I have only flew 3 times and each time was a straight flight. Correct me if I'm wrong. When we check in our luggage at the first airport, we don't have to pick it up until the final destination, right? We don't have to look for it at the connecting airport? 6rugrats Posted January 6, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2009 Not enough information provided. Is this with the same ticket, all on one airline and a domestic itinerary?
Louise45 Posted January 6, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted January 6, 2009 I made the reservation with Delta, from Charlotte, NC to Atlanta, then to Honolulu. It's the same coming back home. Will we have to deal with the checked in luggage in Atlanta?
6rugrats Posted January 6, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2009 No, it should be checked through to your final destination.
Louise45 Posted January 6, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted January 6, 2009 Thanks, that's what I thought. But my friend just got back from a trip and told me different or she was confused. She went from Charlotte to Orlando and then to Germany. Then back from Germany to Philadelphia then back home to Charlotte. Are international flights different? paul929207 Posted January 6, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 6, 2009 Your baggage will be checked thru, so you will not have to pick it up in Atlanta. Yes, internatinal flights are different. You have to go thru customs and immigration at your first stop in the US. In your friends case this was Philly. After she cleared customs, she should have just dropped off the bags, she should not have had to re-check it.
Globaliser Posted January 7, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 7, 2009 Are international flights different?Yes, and the arrangements are different from country to country, and from itinerary to itinerary. Hence 6rugrats' questions to you.
