takemewithyou Posted January 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2009 What is actually In the On board Saving Booklets that various on line agencies offer? Has anyone ever gotten one of these and did you use the coupons? LHC Not worth the paper it's printed on. Throw away item. Into the wastebasket! All the coupons require you to purchase something to get something. One funny note - all of the coupons in our book had expired! We asked at the front desk and they said they would still honor them. Sorry- it's not good news. :o
LHC Posted January 11, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Makes you wonder if people really make their decision based on freebies that cannot be used. I do like the money credits and free dinner at Pinnacle, even a couple of bottles of wine, all these can be used. Linda

InTheWASide Posted January 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Not worth the paper it's printed on. Throw away item. Into the wastebasket! All the coupons require you to purchase something to get something. One funny note - all of the coupons in our book had expired! We asked at the front desk and they said they would still honor them. Sorry- it's not good news. :o jeez, you're right... since all coupons in the sunday paper aren't for freebies, I should always throw away coupons if they don't just GIVE me things... To the OP- Basically, the coupons give you perks on a SECOND one of whatever... If you like to take part in A LOT of the shipboard games, activities, shopping, spa, casino, etc etc you'll probably find some of them useful I would personally be AMAZED if anyone used all of them during a cruise... Is it the greatest TA giveaway ever? N. Is it decent? yes.
sail7seas Posted January 11, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2009 The Onboard Value Booklet includes: * Complimentary Fitness Class: $11 Value - Greenhouse Spa & Salon It's free! :) * Complimentary Souvenir Glass: $3.95 Value It's free! :) * Save $5 on any of our Wine Club Collections: $5 Value * Save $10 on Five-Bottle Admiral’s Choice Wine Package: $10 Value * $2 Discount on Purchase of $20 Bingo Card: $2 Value * $5 Casino Match Play Certificate: $5 Value These are very useable by some people. * Internet Café 10 Complimentary Minutes: $7.50 Value I'd love some free minutes! :) * Holland America Line Logo Items: $10 Off ** Insulated Coffee Mug: $9 Value * $2 Per Minute Discount on Stateroom Call: $10 Value Why are these not useable by many? * * Special $10 rate for 2-Year Subscription to Porthole Magazine: $49 Value Possibly useable by some. I agree that not all those coupons are welcome by all of us but some are useable by most of us. I don't think it totally fair to just say worthless and toss the booklet. JMHO....... HALFans Posted January 11, 2009 #8 Share Posted January 11, 2009 If that booklet was free somewhere, I want one. There are a few of those that would go with purchases I'm planning to make onboard anyway. Why not save a few bucks or get something along with a purchase if you're planning to make it anyway???
