Casshew Posted January 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2009 I submitted some photos I took at Ephesus to a photography site and they published them :) These are probably the nicest photos I have ever taken anywhere, Ephesus and the Terraced Houses are truly an amazing place to visit and explore. All 82 photos are at this link http://www.yeeeeee.com/2009/01/08/memories-of-ephesus-turkey-82-pics/ These are a few of my favourites and a word of advice about shore excursions here.. take the absolutely earliest one you can get. A private tour is even better so you can arrive well ahead of the crowds. We were one of the first people there in the morning so there was no one in front of us, but by the time we left the place was packed and you couldn't take a photo without a hundred strangers in it. browneyes7 Posted January 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2009 These are great pictures!! You are right about arriving early. It gets very crowded there as the day goes on.

FinelyRetired Posted January 13, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 13, 2009 Your pix are lovely. Was it early AM? I'm considering a cruise that includes Ephesus......these pix may have convinced me!
Casshew Posted January 13, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted January 13, 2009 Our departure was very early, I think we left around 7:15am and were there by 8am - we were one of the the first groups into the ruins. Definitely go if you can, we liked it better than the Pyramids in Egypt.
chipmaster Posted January 13, 2009 #9 Share Posted January 13, 2009 Love the pictures, you did a very nice job capturing the magic of the ruins! Someday I hope to get back to these places and make the time to really shot them. I think we saw the same cat :D I can second the recommendation get there early! We got there early and soon the crowds descended and completely changed the atmosphere of the place. Plus it gets really really hot in the summer.
