Question about BBQ on GSC

I know this may sound silly, but is it free? We went to Cayo Levantado last year and you had to pay for your food. Thanks.

My understanding is that the food is free, but you do need to pay for alcohol and bottled water.

I understand! The only other things that you might need money for on GSC is float rentals and snorkel vests (which are mandatory $5/person I think). From what I have read here, there are also a few trinket shacks with local items for purchase - but nothing of significance.

Can you charge your float and vest rentals to the room card as you do the beverages or will I need extra cash? Also if the rentals are cash is there a credit card or cash deposit as well?

The BBQ is definitely free. Soft drinks and alcohol are extra charge. The BBQ at Great Stirrup Cay is not very exciting, by the way. Eat a good breakfast before you tender over to the island.

Thanks again. We are in our 60's and just plan to go and enjoy a hike on the island. So, if the food is not great, so be it. Maybe we can sneak a few of those tasty cookies off the ship to snack on.;)

Everything controlled by the ship is paid for with your ship card. If you go to the "straw market" for souvenirs, you'll need small denomination bills.

We were at GSC last week and the food is free. I only needed cash for the straw market, and everything else was charged to our room. I did see cookies with the desserts at the BBQ.
