When I'm on the ships as crew for months at a time its nice to get away from the World's drama like wars, crashing economy etc. The ships its own little world and I love it.

Lately, I have been telling my husband that I wish everyday is Saturday or Sunday so I do not have to hear the stock market. We are OK. Life is too short; enjoy it.

Some how I have spoiled my kids and my son will come home at 10PM and ask if there's anything to eat. I'm stupid enough to then make him something.:eek:

everyday life. On a cruise, I am totally incomunicado. For a short (too short) time, time stands still. There is nothing but the ship and the islands and the warm sunshine and the turquois waters. I get to live the dream...ahhh :)

It the cruise was right now, I'd say the frigid weather (wind chill -5 yesterday). But, I look forward to pretty much everything that's been mentioned already. But, if I had to choose: it's not getting away from something, but more like spending more quality time with my family. No homework, dishes, cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. We can all relax and have fun together.

Responsibility for all parts of my life: work, caregiving of aging husband, household matters. Sure it's there when I return, and DH even goes with me on the cruise, but a week or so respite sure helps.

Without a doubt, waking up to -20 actual temperatures, with wind chills of -40. Only three weeks to go to the warm.
