You can get the cash out from the casino cage for a 3% charge or play around with the slots and get it out for nothing. I would just do the cage. Ask for $125; your shipboard account will be charged $128.75 and there you have it.
recia Posted January 19, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2009 Just got off the Ruby, I asked about this same situation. Was told if over $25 they would ask you to come down on Saturday morning with credit card and would apply it to that. (Not sure why they would need to do this since they already had my card number. But did not ask) If under $25 they would give you cash. Turns out we ended with a $3.00 balance we owed, after having a few double scotches on Friday night :)

Toto2Kansas Posted January 19, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2009 does princess slot machines allow you to get money for free using your sign and sail card? yes, but just the slots. Any advance from the casino cage you will be charged the 3%, so always best to take care of this at the slots. ;)
TwinCruiserMom Posted January 19, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 19, 2009 I had the need to get some cash out of my OBC last time because they were just too big and it was wasteful to buy any more souveniers or drinks. (the amount was WAY over our tips and small expenses) I went to the cashiers cage at the casino and asked for tokens off my account and was charged the 3%. How would I do this from the slot machines? I am a real dunce when it comes to the casino!!! After we received our tokens, we decided to play a dollar's worth and had to ask a gentleman how to even use the dumb slot machines! Talk about embarrassed! We used the one dollar and then cashed out our chips. What is the best or easiest way to get money off your account? How in the world do you get money out of the slot machine? Thank you for the step by step instructions for a novice like me.

It's just a matter of pushing certain buttons on the key pad after the account is set up. Then you can charge credits to your shipboard account on a slot and not have to pay the 3% surcharge. Easier to ask for assistance then to try to explain it here. After you charge the credits to your shipboard account, you take your key card to the casino cashier and cash it in. They in turn will give you the amount on your card without the 3% surcharge tacked on. Just watch for one of the casino staff walking around, and ask them for help, they will gladly walk you through it and help you in any way you need. ;)
gargoyle999 Posted January 19, 2009 #8 Share Posted January 19, 2009 Good luck! I'm still waiting for a $117 refund for a credit balance we have after our cruise that ended Dec 6th. Have called Princess twice and sent an email to the post cruise customer relations email but didn't get an answer to the email other than an auto reply right after I sent it. The first time I called was told the credit had been issued already. The second time I called was told the first person didn't initiate the credit! Not sure why it wouldn't just be automatic other than Princess hoping I didn't say anything and they just keep the money. Now if I had owed $117 at the end of the cruise I just wonder how long it would have taken for the money to leave my account??

(see above posts). I presume you didn't know how to do this, but you sure will when it happens the next time. :)

cruiserbryce Posted January 19, 2009 #11 Share Posted January 19, 2009 while that is a pretty reasonable sized OBC i still think it would be tough to not consujme the entire amount, especially if you plan to charge tips...I think someone above did the math already...that you have $130 or so after grats...you'll be amazed at how fast it will go...at least I always am:rolleyes:

On our upcoming B2B, we will have $1200 OBC. Tips will take care of $588.00, which will leave a negative of $612.00. Since whatever tours we take will be private and since we don't drink, however could we spend that $$$? Jewelry? No interest. Art? Definitely no interest. Bingo? Never. I know, you wish you had my problem. :D

Packman1000 Posted January 20, 2009 #14 Share Posted January 20, 2009 I have the same situation on an upcoming cruise, so I called Princess last weekend. The first answer I got was that it would NOT be refunded. When I said that most of my credit was from refunded fuel surcharge and I told them that not refuding it was unfair, I was told that an amount up to the fuel supplement portion would be refunded to my credit card. Guess I'll have to try the casino thing, although it does seem confuing (especially since we don't gamble). You would think that this issue would come up constantly, with the fact that Princess just puts the fuel surcharge on your shipboard account. They should have a more clear policy on this. Their first posting of the fuel refund stated that if it were put on as an OBC and not used it wouldbe refunded in cash - I have a copy somewhere.
