Fort Lauderdale Beach

Hi everyone, could you please tell me which beach area is best for a short

2 night stay before our cruise in Nov. Pompano or Hollywood beach area

Which one is closer to restaurants etc. any info would be appreciated

Ft.Lauderdale beach. Plenty of hotels, restaurants, bars and etc. Great beach and also close to Las Olas Blvd., a terrfic area also for food, entertainment and shopping.

I second that. we just stayed there early January...and it was great, tons to do lots of beach and not crowded, great pubs, restaurants and shopping, in case there was anything that you forgot to pack for the rest of your trip

Just north of Fort Lauderdale (before Pompano) you will find Lauderdale by the Sea. There, you have many small hotels either on the beach or accross the street on Elmar st. You will be close to Commercial boulevard where you can find restaurants, boutiques, a bank, a pier... It's quieter than Ft-Lauderdale and the little hotels are less expensive. Depends what you're looking for!

Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is a very good option.

Great bars/restaurants, and a fun place to walk around.

Of course there is a lot more going on in Fort Lauderdale itself!

 

Pompano is a little removed from the action -- not much going on there.

A longer ride to the port, too.

Love staying in Ft Lauderdale. It is so much fun to be in the midst of stores, beaches, bars and restaurants.

 

We are going to stay 3 days before our cruise in October!!

We like Ft Lauderdale beach. Lots and lots to do, we always stay there before a cruise.
