RCI to Sail 8 Ships in Europe in '10

Thu Mar 12 2009, by Travel Trade Staff

Royal Caribbean International will deploy eight ships in Europe for 2010 with itineraries ranging from four to 14 nights, and offering three- to five-night cruise/tour vacation extensions in the Mediterranean, and Northern and Western Europe.

In addition to the Freedom-class Independence of the Seas, RCI also will position three Voyager-class ships in the region for the first time, with Adventure of the Seas making its European debut and joining sister-ships Navigator of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas. Also sailing in Europe in 2010 will be Brilliance of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas, Splendour of the Seas and Vision of the Seas. In all, Royal Caribbean is unveiling 57 unique Europe itineraries, visiting 22 countries and 55 ports. Bookings are now open for 2010 Europe cruises and cruise/tours aboard all ships.

Guests also can combine their Royal Caribbean cruise with three-, four- and five-night escorted land tours on a Royal Caribbean cruise/tour.

Not quite true as the IOS is doing a three night sailing to Le Havre.

I was hoping to see a Voyager class replace Adventure in San Juan. I guess I'll have to wait until March 25 to see what's going on there. The southern Caribbean is my favorite place to sail and I'd like to have more than one option for vessels to choose from.

Rumor has it they're replacing AOS with a Freedom class ship.

Yes, I know. But Adventure is leaving San Juan. All we know now is that Serenade will run southern Caribbean sailings out of there year round. If they don't send a second ship, there will be little choice for that area - one ship, two itineraries.

I love Adventure and was sad to hear she was being relocated. I was hoping she'd be replaced by another Voyager class. Still waiting to find out. Was hoping to glean something from this thread.
