TheFutureMrs. Posted April 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Hi all, So, I thought it would be fun to see how everyone spends their days at sea. We usually get up early, eat, go to the pool, eat again :) and then around 4pm we are usually looking for things to do before our late seating dinner. Just wondering how everyone else passes your time... Thanks!!
cb at sea Posted April 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2009 We hit the dining room for a lovely breakfast, go back to the cabin for the "pool stuff" and sun for awhile. Hubby can only do that for so long, so he usually hits the casino for awhile. Then, he'll come back to the pool, we'll have a drink or two, and then he gets ready for dinner. When he's done, it's my turn. I'll meet him in either the casino or a bar when I'm ready! That's about it! Sometimes, a round of mini-golf fills a bit of time....we just relax! wdw1972 Posted April 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Up early - preferably before sunrise. When we're both cruising, he'll sleep until I come back to the cabin. Breakfast in Lido, time by the pool, lunch (him) at Lido, then doing a few activities or reading in the shade or walking the promenade or relaxing in the cabin during the afternoon. Dinner's usually around 7, followed by a show, then fairly early to bed to be up early the next day. I love the cruising life! Wish "real life" was like that ;-) Sue/WDW1972 Eurodam 11/07/
EdSails Posted April 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Leisure breakfast (sometimes with champagne) in the dining room, reading on deck, leisurely lunch in the dining room (sometimes with champagne too!), a nice "nap":o, afternoon tea and some more reading around the pool or in the library. It's always a good time also to listen to the various musical performances in the bars, Atrium etc. Love those lazy sea days!
GWTWLady Posted April 2, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2009 SPA...SPA....SPA!!! Shop, dine, enjoy "drink of the day" - maybe a few... We also try to take in as many of the ship activities as possible...things we normally would not do -- like the art auction, wine classes, game shows and of course the hot tub and pool... Thats the great thing about cruisin' -- you can do as much or as little as you want to do ... and it's all good!!!!
Roadtripster Posted April 2, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2009 We get up before sunrise, have breakfast at the lido and then straight to the pool for the whole entire day. We will get lunch at the lido, but not leave the pool except for that. Go back to the cabin when it is time to get dressed for anytime dining. We love to be lazy at the pool, because port days, we are on the go!
missou Posted April 3, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 3, 2009 I am not a person who loves sitting in the sun... Anyway, I burn easily. I will do different activities that are organized, such as the wine tasting, the cooking demonstration, walk around the ship a little, take pictures of the horizon... I just love the days at sea, they are so relaxing... I would spend my live on a boat so easely...
GRITS cruiser Posted April 4, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 4, 2009 We were on the Carnival Glory last time. We would eat breakfast in the dinning room. Then we would go play volleyball all day, taking only a short break for lunch.
yakdaddy42 Posted April 4, 2009 #9 Share Posted April 4, 2009 I get up early run up to the lido deck and put my beach towel of a bunch of deckchairs next to the pool so no one can use them all day. TrevyMcShaw Posted April 4, 2009 #10 Share Posted April 4, 2009 Order room service for early delivery, have a romantic breakfast on the balcony, take a nap, dress for lunch in the dining room, walk the ship to search for a couple of chairs, go to the casino when no deck chairs are available, find a quiet bar and some friendly faces to share a Pina Colada with, back to the room for some "quiet" time, sit on the balcony, order a snack from room service, take another nap, dress for late dinner, see a show, sing karaoke, back to bed so we can get up early and go play on an exotic island. Ah-ah Posted April 7, 2009 #14 Share Posted April 7, 2009 Good thing about vacation with cruise is, except for eating, you can do absolutely nothing or absolutely many things and bothered no one. Our days have started at 6:30 am with: - 45 min walk on the top deck and watch the sunrise, or on the walking deck, or in the lobby (when it was rainy or windy or cold outside) - 15 min swim + 10 min Spa + 10 min in Sauna. - Back to our room, order room service expresso, have a shower and watch a talk show about daily program on TV. - About 9:00 am, pick up crossword puzzle and brainteaser from Library and head up to Buffet breakfeast. - Go to interesting presentation programs from Guest Speakers or attend Western Line Dancing class. - Morning Trivia Quiz or shopping talk tips (jade, silk, lacquer, art, jewellery...) - Learn Ball Room Dancing. - After lunch, get some popcorn and go to the movie matinee - Attend computer class, informative talk, art class, language class - enjoy relaxing afternoon tea with live music - head up to buffer dining room and taste all foods available on the night. - go to Pool Bar to get some hot chips and watching the sun goes down - dress up and go to dinner - go to the night show - go to ballroom or karaoke or casino or just relaxing with a night drink (you can participate or sitting with friends or just have a quick look) - head up to Lido for midnight meal such as Congee (my favourite midnight meal), sandwiches, light meals... go to bed about midnight or later. I was on one legs of World Cruise tour, so I had a lot of new friends around the world as well as some from other states.

BroncosFan2010 Posted April 13, 2009 #18 Share Posted April 13, 2009 RELAX! Have a drink, gamble a little, check out all the little nooks and crannies of the ship!

BroncosFan2010 Posted April 13, 2009 #20 Share Posted April 13, 2009 I have to plan out my sea days or I go insane. I am a very active person, and I feel trapped if I don't have a game plan. That plan usually includes relaxing by the pool, but I try to get out early and do that before the crowds encircle the pool. I also choose itineraries that have no more than 1 sea day (for a 7 day cruise).
ngl116 Posted April 14, 2009 #21 Share Posted April 14, 2009 I love sea days and DH isn't so thrilled with them. There will be 4 on our cruise in November. I'm really excited. I'll keep DH busy, we can walk around the ship, gamble a bit, swim, "nap", nap, and relax on our balcony. I always make sure to bring a good book or 2 and catch up on some reading, I don't get much time to read at home. We just relax and so what we want! tgptmp Posted April 15, 2009 #22 Share Posted April 15, 2009 Sea Days? Ah, we love them! Up early to watch the sun rise. We always do a balcony! Fruit, coffee, and juice delivered to the room. Then off to the rest of breakfast. Trivia, games, gaming lessons at the casino, hanging by the pool, hit the gym, lunch at the buffet, then early seating for dinner, the show, and music at one of the bars (we are not big drinkers at all, so we do actually go for the music). It is a full day. Can it get any better than that?
