Do you let your YOUNG kids carry an on-board room charge card?

DD is 6. She'll either be with us or in kids club whenever she is on the boat. Do they ever do anything / go anywhere during kids club that she would need her card to charge stuff to the room?

We're on Royal Caribbean if it matters.

RCI (and many cruise lines) will disable the charge feature on any ship cabin/charge card if you request it. That way, there would be no issue of charges by your DD or anyone else (just in case she lost it). She's unlikely to need it, of course, but might feel like a "big girl" if you have them deactivate charging on it and allow her to wear it on a lanyard like many children (and adults) do.

We canceled the charge part of our teens cards as well. The arcade only took coins and they had the teen passports for drinks so they only needed money for shopping in the ship stores. When they wanted something for themselves they just paid us and we put it on are account. This way if they lose their card you don't have to worry about someone charging things on it.

We let our kids carry their keycards quite a bit on the cruise. They like to "do the ding" themselves when we get on and off the ship and they like to unlock the door. AO gave the Explorers a lanyard to wear and so the 6 year old's got attached to that and AO gave our 3 year old an Inky (octopus stuffed animal) with a clip on it, so we attached his card to the Inky and he carried that around.
