atdahop Posted April 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2009 Can anyone recommend a hotel in the San Pedro, Long Beach area that is reasonable with comfy beds? Has anyone had any success with Priceline or Hotwire? Thanks, Carole

pvfunlover Posted April 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2009 I've stayed at both the Vagabond Inn and the Holiday Inn on Gaffey St. in San Pedro. Both place were clean and comfy and reasonably priced.
jst4fun715 Posted April 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2009 We stayed at the Crowne Plaza last Nov and got it for about $65 on Priceline. Check out biddingfortravel.com for some help and to see the hotels that people have gotten.
cruiserbryce Posted April 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2009 I have always found the hotel itself and the beds also to be very comfortable at the Doubltree. We have stayed there each time we have sailed from SP
Alexis Posted April 9, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 9, 2009 I also stay at the Crowne Plaza, I stayed here several times and love the location. From my hotel window I saw the Mariner docked. They have a free shuttle to the ship and pick you up after the cruise. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. If people drive, as I did, they have a Park and Cruise package available where your car is in their underground garage for up to 15 days for one price. Crowne Plaza Hotel LOS ANGELES HARBOR HOTEL 601 S. PALOS VERDES ST. Rancher Dave Posted April 9, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2009 There are reports $65 may get you the Double Tree Hotel. When we checked in after a cruise, they were checking to see if we needed a van to the ship, so it seems they like to cater to outgoing cruise passengers as well. I saw many arriving for the departure the next day. Enjoy your visit and cruise!!!
Mugga Posted April 9, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 9, 2009 When we left from Long Beach, we stayed on the Queen Mary. Wasn't cheap but we really enjoyed the history and going from the old ship to the new ship.
Rare Clay Clayton Posted April 9, 2009 #9 Share Posted April 9, 2009 We were very pleased with our Priceline win of the Doubletree. I think it was $70 but it was Thanksgiving week. Be sure to sign up for the shuttle to the cruise board as soon as you arrive as it books fast. The shuttle will also take you to downtown San Pedro for shopping etc. We had a great b'fast at the Egg & Waffle and then went to the grocery store next door for limes, tonic and pepsi to carry on the ship. When we finished shopping, called the shuttle and five minutes later they were there to pick us up. For more info, you can check out my NCL Star Review. Have a great trip. Thanks, Carole There is tons of info on Priceline for San Pedro at the top of this page. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=412919 Click on my links for tons of pictures and info on Crowne Plaza http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=601984 and Doubletree http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=602015 Both are the only best two hotels in San Pedro for cruisers. (Any other hotel is definitely a step down in quality)...
