I think this is the most awesome thread I've seen on the internet! I've been reading for hours and lmao!

OK, this isn't as funny as some of the others, but.... Our first cruise was on Carnival's Elation in 2003. Our 1st sea day, DH and I were exploring the ship and found our way to the bow right in front of the bridge. We were the only ones up there and we were enjoying the quiet, the view out over the ocean, the wind....kind of romantic. All of a sudden the ship's horn blew and we were standing right next to it...jumped a foot, heart failure, adrenaline rush, panic!!! We turned around and looked at the bridge and there were about 5 crew members looking out at us laughing their heads off at us. I think they blew the horn just to make us jump lol

Now that's funny!:D

Joel, you have my scorn-you made fun of a little kid?

My guess is he won a swimming medal or spelling bee medal or something similiar and proudly wanted to wear it. I think it was very kind of his parents to allow him to wear it.

This reminds me of a picture of my hubby as a little boy. He is wearing a scarf around his neck. Why? Because his favorite TV character from his favorite TV show wore a "cravat" and he wanted to be like his favorite character.

Yes, my MIL found it silly and feared he would be made fun for wearing her scarf to sc hool on picture day but still she allowed him to do that because it was important to him. You know loving parents do that.

Shame on you for making fun of a little kid who was simply proud of a medal he had won.

I also find it very jerky that you entertain yourself by making fun of people's photos. It defiently does not say much about you for sure.

I realize these posts are several years old, but I'm betting "John Gotti Jr" was not wearing a medal he won. I'm betting he was imitating "Flavor Flav" from rap group Public Enemy:

When we were in Cabo we got a ride in a little cart pulled by a guy on a bicycle around town. The guy on the bike asked us if we wanted a moon light tour. Not knowing what that was we said sure. He dropped his shorts down in the back and proceeded to tour us around town! I took a photo but don't think I should share it on here.

We were on a cruise once and was about to dock in St. Maarten. My wife and I were lounging on the port side of the ship when I noticed about 100 men standing by the starboard railing. I told my wife that I was going to go see what was so interesting. When I was able to squeeze in and see, I then knew what all of the excitement was about. About 150-feet from our ship was a large yacht anchored. On the upper portion of this yacht was a very attractive young woman in her birthday suit! And, well let's just say, she was pleasuring herself to the awestruck onlookers aboard our ship!

When I returned to my wife, she asked what all of the excitement was. I told her that it was just a few dolphins near the ship! LOL

Love this Thread. Read it in October before the cruise bellow.

Here is kind of an amuzing story from our last cruise.

This happened on a Princess ship, 16 days in Asia. During our embarkation process in Beijing we noticed an older man (in his 60's), in a gray suite, Russian looking going back and forth in front of customs. All he had in his pocession was an old-fashion briefcase (a size that would fit a laptop) and a brown paper bag (size of a lunch paper bag). We starting thinking to ourselves - who comes on a 16-day cruise with no luggage? he was either a lonely man without any change of clothes or a Russian spy :) When we got to the ship we would see that man walk around (on the ship and on shore) in the SAME suite all the time. Sometimes he would take his jacket off, but same pants, etc. One time we met him at the pool in a tiny bikini buttoms (Speedo)and he started talking to us in Russian (we speak Russian). And indeed, he arrived from Russia by himself to go on this cruise. We didn't bother asking him if he was a spy :) I bet the briefcase contents were documents and the speedo!

And then we had another "character" on this ship who had a Russian passport who came on this cruise with two young tall girls. The guy was in his late 40's, early 50's and the girls were in their late teens early 20's. Those 3 wore white clothes for the ENTIRE cruise!! The guy always wore white shirts, white pants, white sandals, big gold chain. and the girls wore white short mini skirts, white shoes, white tops that barelly covered anything. They would always walk around all together with the guy in the middle and the girls "hanging" on each side. He looked like a ****! People on the ship and on shore stopped to look their way. We called them "team White". on the last day of the cruise we were standing next to them as they were paying for thier cabin (all cash) and apperently the three of them stayed in a suite. Quite a party that must have been!

I always love watching folks coming off the ship who get busted by the drug sniffing wolf (those aren't dogs!) and then get a "special escort" by the police.

It's amazing that people don't listen to the talks onboard about "reefer" and other drugs... You must hear at least a dozen times that the drug dogs will be used, do not try it. The old adage... that's why the call it "dope".:D

While not as wild and crazy as some, I do have a pretty amusing one.

We got to get in line about the 3rd day into the cruise with all of those who's CC's failed to accept the purchases so far. I figured that I did calculated something, or that the payment to the CC hadn't processed yet. Nope card is coming back as declined. The desk offered to let us call the CC company from their phone with no charge. Very nice of them I will say, but it was a Capital One card who lets you call collect from out of the country anyways.

A little bit about this CC. We had it for about 5 months now. Used it for a few online subscriptions, and actually used it to pay off the cruise with. All of this done online. The card was in my husbands name, so I go and get him and bring him back down to the desk with me this time.

Call up the number on the card, do the press 1, press 8428, press 3, enter your card number. I head an automated voice say "I see you are calling to activate your credit card, if so press 1". I fell on the floor laughing. We had charged a ton of this CC online and been paying it off ever month. Never once swiped the card anywhere. Who would have thought that a CC could be used w/o being activated?!

Finally was able to calm down enough to explain what happened, have them reswipe the card and it go threw. Unfortunately it didn't last long because of a few people who were, not as happy with my "good fortune" compared to their overdawn cards giving me looking to start me laughing again! :D

Having read this I am wondering. 'If my new card gets stolen in the mail can that person use it?'

For dinner in the MDR, we were seated with two other groups (a family of three and a mother & her son). Dinner was a pretty quiet affair - unlike other tables where strangers were making new friends, our table didn't. We just talked amongst the people we were traveling with.

On the 3rd day, the family wasn't there, so it was just us and the mother & son. My mom strikes up a conversation with the other mother (they both speak a different language). At the end of dinner, our waiter asks: You guys are one family, right?

Us & Them: No, we're not.

Waiter: But you guys have the same last name?

Us & Them: What, we do?! Wait, what's your last name?

It was pretty funny. I'm not sure why the waiter would have assumed we were 1 family since we did not talk to each other for the 1st 2 days.

...so I was walking down to the restaurant with my stuffed bird on the shoulder of my life jacket, trying to keep my Burger King crown on with one hand, when this wig comes at my face from nowhere....:D

Story 3. We had just come back from a port excursion and had gone to the pool to relax and cool off befor getting ready for dinner, my husband and I were in the pool relaxing when we noticed a man "resting" his entire body on the thick ledge of the pool, one leg and one arm were dangling in the water , all of a sudden we saw the man roll off into the water and start sinking!!!! As it turns out he was stone drunk, my husband went under and picked him up to the edge and others around the pool side assisted to get him up onto the deck.........he woke out of his drunken slumber and his wife assited him back to the room! CRAZY!!!!!!

I like a good drink as well as the next guy but gees, get a grip, can't be enjoying the cruise if you can't remember anything about it!

NOW you tell me! :p

This thread is GREAT! I have spent the better part of 2 days reading every post. Sadly, the only additions I could make would involve drunken Jolly Roger cruises in Barbados.

I hope to see more stories added!

I posted this on Carnival, but thought some here might get a chuckle.

We returned back last Friday from a cruise on the Inspiriation. We disembarking we reached the customs line and went to the line assigned to us. A few minutes later we heard the customs official who was assigning lines say, "Maam, this is the Department of Homeland Security we don't have a Platinum line." All those around busted out laughing. Wonder how many more quips from DHS.
