SDHALFAN Posted April 22, 2009 #51 Share Posted April 22, 2009 So they are asked and then they are scored after all of the questions have been asked. That is a good way to do it. Seems to have worked so far! By the way (and this is edited to set you straight): no matter how much of a genius you are (or your friends tell you that you are) the Cruise Director and his staff are always right - even when they are wrong, so you can argue the point 'till the cows come home but it's not going to do you any good. babyher Posted April 22, 2009 #53 Share Posted April 22, 2009 Talk about your old TV shows. We won the last trivia game because I knew the answer to that obscure question " What was the name of the fireman on Leave It To Beaver". Embarrassing for me :D Oh; the answer was "Gus". Played by veteren character actor Burt Mustin. *LOL* I happen to be another fountain of useless knowledge. They club I belong to has a big trivia contest every year. We have a nice made by the ladies guild from the church across the street (God can those little old Polish ladies cook :)) and then supreme cut throat movie and TV trivia. *LOL* The grand prize is a gift basket with goodies supplied by a lot of the members who are business owners easily worth a few hundred dollars, and a little trophy. I won last year :) Winning question wasn't THAT bad. The moderator listed all the "guest villains" on Batman (The 60s version with Adam West) and you had to name the actor or actress that played them. Now everyone knows the penguin, The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman. But how many know Louie the Lilac The Sandman The Archer The Siren Black Widow Its an intense night to say the least *LOL*

babyher Posted April 22, 2009 #56 Share Posted April 22, 2009 Louie the Lilac - Milton BerleThe Sandman - Michael Rennie The Archer- Art Carney The Siren- Joan Collins Black Widow _ Tallulah Bankhead Excellent !!!!! And who was the rich widow whose fortune The Sandman was trying to bilk her out of. And who played her? I'll tell you with the crowd I play with you really have to know your old character actors and actresses of the 30s through the 60s. The funny thing is there aren't too many old timers in the group
Bradtez Posted April 22, 2009 #57 Share Posted April 22, 2009 There can of course always be more than one correct answer. One of the questions on our last Carnival trip was '' in what month does the winter soltice start?'' Well are are from Australia (Southern Hemisphere) so of course it is different from 99% of the rest of the passengers who were from North America (Northern Hemisphere). It took the girl running trivia a minute to get her head around it, but we did get it correct:).

Clue The second movie she played the title character. Depends on your definition of a "James Bond" film. In 1967 Woody Allen did a version of Casino Royale (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061452/) which had David Niven as Sir James Bond and a cast of other stars, all playing "James Bond". Ursula Andress had a part in this version of Casino Royale. Rich

fantasmic2tek Posted April 22, 2009 #66 Share Posted April 22, 2009 Spoofs don't count. They were both made with Roger Moore. This should give it away.

The original Casino Royale is not a "Bond" film in the traditional "Goldfinger" "Dr No" sense , but yet it is a Bond film (spoof as it may be)

FormerHALWorker Posted April 30, 2009 #69 Share Posted April 30, 2009 Speaking from the point of view of a former worker who ran trivia games, they can be great fun or crash and burns. My rules included have fun, im always right, teams of six, no cheatin, and im always right. We did get our questions out of TP and yes it was nerveracking at times as you passengers go die hard on your answers. I even had a guest come up to me during my dinner time, mind you I was also OFF the ship enjoying my day, with a book proving one of my answers were wrong. Remember it's just a game and the prizes are usually worth about 2-3 bucks.

Nancyquilts Posted April 30, 2009 #71 Share Posted April 30, 2009 How do they conduct the trivia games? Do you holler out the answer or is it structured? The only answers you give out loud are the wrong ones to confuse other teams. Otherwise, it's best to write down your answers for the rest of your team to see, so you don't pass the correct answer to another team.
