Casino on Monarch?

Recommended Posts

We are too! We're both graduate students and are celebrating the end of our first year, we're both ready to be done with school (for the second time).

Anyway, back on topic...

I was pretty sure Monarch had a casino, I was just having a moment. :D I just got back from Las Vegas and I had trouble finding a $5 roulette table on the strip. I'm still a new player and I feel better when I lose less money per spin. LOL

Then you'll be happy to know that Monarch has some decent penny slots.

Good news. Thanx

Does anyone know if there is a craps table? We're on the week after April-in-NC and also getting excited. How can you not?

You generally won't find good bets ON the strip. For better (i.e. lower) minimum bets, you need to go to local places off strip. Or at least WAY down the strip (off hours and or downtown, Southpoint and the like).

I have a very fond memory of the casino on the Monarch. We sailed on her back in the 90's. I was wandering around in the casino on the second night of the cruise. I put a quarter in a slot machine that was calling my name.....then I realized that I could win more money if I put in three quarters! So I did.....and on that very spin, I won $1700!! I took the money and ran out of there!

Yes, there is a craps table. It was always full, and folks were having a great time. Unfortunately, I did not see the minimums for it.

I noticed that the roulette table was a $5 minimum for red/black etc. and $1 for numbers.

There was a $5 minimum for BlackJack. There was a single deck table as well, but I did not notice if the minimum changed.

There are three or four penny slots (traditional kind) - at the aft starboard entrance up against the side wall in the non-smoking section.

There are two banks of 2 cent slots - forward port side, 2nd 'island' bank from the Centrum on the Schooner side (traditional kind), and a 2nd bank of electronic ones at the 3rd 'island' bank entering from the Centrum on the starboard side.

Many of what look like nickel machines around the edges are multi-demoninational, and 2 cents is an option on some of them, but it's hit-or-miss as to which ones have the 2 cent option.

I saw several folks get some fairly good hits, particularly on the traditional 2 cent machines. I usually could go for an hour or more on 10$ playing 9 lines, 1 credit per line. I found that most of my larger hits were on lines 6-9, and combinations with lower lines, so be sure to play all 9 lines.

The penny machines didn't give out much, and most of the better hits were on the higher lines for these as well. There was a lady that put in 5 100$ bills to the one next to me while I was sinking my $5. She was there before I got there, and for at least an hour afterwards. Wow. If I was going to play that much $, I would head to the dollar machines for the better percentage. ;)

Also, the electronic 2 cent ones in the bank didn't do anything for me but eat my $. It's some kind of lotto themed machine if I remember correctly.

Have a great time & win some big $!
