Brissle Posted April 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2009 Can someone please tell me what type of electric plugs I need to use on the NCL Norwegian Sun cruising Alaska this summer? Do they have the standard North American 110v 2 flat pin plugs? Thanks Brissle
garycarla Posted April 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2009 Seems like somebody asked that this morning. All NCL ships have at least one US type outlet on them. It might not be in the most convenient place, but there is at least one.
Globaliser Posted April 29, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2009 There should also be 240V European Schuko sockets. If you are bringing any UK appliances that need 220/240V and don't work on 110V, you should be able to use these without also bringing a transformer - you'd just need a cheapie adapter that effectively changes the shape of the plug, the same as if you were travelling in continental Europe. Much of the electronic stuff these days works on 110V and 240V. That includes computers, and chargers for cameras and phones etc. Read the label on the box to see if it'll happily take both voltages. If so, then you'll be able to plug them into any of the sockets in the cabin using only the necessary adapter.
