Cruise Arizona Posted May 2, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2009 I have a question about the drinking age for San Juan Departures. The drinking age is San Juan is 18, but San Juan is not specified in the following blurb from the RC website: On cruises departing from European and South American countries, where the legal drinking age is typically lower than 21, a parent who is sailing with his or her son(s) and/or daughter(s) who is between the ages of 18 to 20, may sign a waiver allowing the 18 to 20 year old to consume alcoholic beverages. Please note: Waivers will be provided to parents upon check-in. The 18- to 20 year-old must agree to comply with Royal Caribbean's policies, including among other things, agreeing to not provide alcoholic beverages to any other person, regardless of age. Restrictions apply, and this policy is subject to change without notice. So I am curious about a 20 year old traveling with her parents. Is the waiver option available for San Juan departures, or will that cruise follow the 21 and older rule?

marykdan Posted May 2, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2009 It was 21 when we sailed on Adventure two years ago.
Jeffrc1 Posted May 2, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2009 The thing that is more interesting is that there is no drinking age in international waters, but RCL's policy is 21 except for European cruises.
