Any info on The Courtyard by Marriott-Ft. Lauderdale Beach, Courtyard by Marriott Ft. Lauderdale East or the Embassy Suites? We will be staying one night before our cruise but will have the whole day in Ft Lauderdale. Not sure which one of these hotels would be our best bet. Also does anyone know how far from the Port these hotels are located?

Thanks for any info and suggestions!

First, the embassy suites is not a marriott!

Second...the CY Beach is pretty nice....there is a bubba gumps under the hotel...and a decent, if somewhat "divey" german palce in teh alleyway next door. Plus a 7-11 across the street.

Decent place...you can flag down the sun trolley.....and if Ray the ballman is still there, his other job is as a van driver....only cost us 19 bucks to the airport which was good as the bridge was up and a cab would have been MANY bucks!

The CY Beach is maybe 10 minutes or less....IIRC the cab was maybe 15-20 bucks max.

CY Fort Laud East in about 10 miles north of the port. It's in a safe neighborhood about 1.5 miles west of the Lauderdale by the Sea beach. Embassy Suites is a few blocks from the port entrance and is nice.

My first choice would be CY Beach; it's in a great location and you don't need a car. It's across the street from the beach and walking distance to all of the beachfront bars and restaurants. To me, location is everything when it comes to having a fun vacation. It's only about 2 miles from the port entrance.
