jerseygirl3 Posted May 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2009 I just read under another heading that Celebrity now has a sign posted at the entrance to the Aqua Spa pool area that states "children allowed when accompanied by an adult." It was my understanding that Celebrity does this only on Alaskan itineraries where the weather may be inclement and the kids can't use the regular pool. But this person said it was on a Panama Canal cruise. Is this something new? Anybody know if this is going fleet wide?
cruisead Posted May 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2009 Yep, we were on Infinity on the April 12 Panama Canal sailing out of San Diego and there definitely was a sign on both the port and starboard entrances to the Aqua Spa that said kids were allowed in the Aqua Spa pool area with an adult. We saw kids in there a few times on our Canal cruise, and it was by no means a cold weather cruise as the temps were in the 90's.

All their material says that no one under 16 is allowed in the T-pool. Well-behaved children are fine on a cruise, but there should be someplace (other than the bars and casino) where us cranky old folks can enjoy an all-adult space.:D Donia
Aquahound Posted May 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2009 On the Solstice, there were signs posted stating that the area was for 16+ only. Unfortunately, they did not enforce it on my cruise.
Rare C-Dragons Posted May 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2009 It is our understanding that children are allowed in the Aqua Spa area with their parents only to EAT at the Spa Cafe. Those under age 16 are NOT allowed in the T-pools at any time.

Those under age 16 are NOT allowed in the T-pools at any time. That's what I thought, but I've been told by recent cruisers that this isn't the case...kids were allowed in the pool area as long as they were with an adult. bbro Posted May 11, 2009 #7 Share Posted May 11, 2009 While my info is old (10 months old) children were allowed in the T-Pool and the hot tubs in the Aqua Spa area if accompanied by an adult when we are on the Infinity in Jul 08. There was a permanent sign up on the wall that stated this (seemed permanent to me and my DH even commented that he hadn't seen that sign up in 2006 on the same cruise/ship). From what I gathered - in the past, Alaska cruises have allowed children during inclement weather, but only during inclement weather. Someone posted in an older thread on this topic a few weeks ago that she was on a Panama Canal cruise and the pool was open to children even thought the weather was just fine (I think she also posted the new big sign that states kids are OK). It seems that maybe they've opened it up to more of a family style area and possibly regardless of weather children under 18 are now allowed (supervised). However I have not confirmed this with X.
