Is the Musette Salsa the one with a large front flap? I love the size and style but I think I worried about the access being a bit of a pain. I bought a beautiful large size bag from LV the last time I was in Atlantic City at the Piers and I immediately used it as we were at the casino and within an hour I had taken it off and put it back in the box to return as the way it worked, if I needed to get into the bag, there was a flap and buckle I believe so the purse tipped over whenever I tried to get into it - so back it went!

Debbie

Mine is like this but in monogram http://www.jillsconsignment.com/proddetail.php?prod=louisvuittonmusettesalsadamiereb

The flap is not heavy at all. No heavy hardware either. I love it for travel as I can keep my arm on it comfortably to avoid pickpockets.

I too have been looking for two types of bags - one for the ship, which would be shoulder or cross body but small and chic - hold my essentials (sail pass card, makeup and maybe small itinerary for the day) and then another larger shoulder type bag for the ports. I will probably want to haul around a bottle of water, maps, lists of plans, sunscreen, rain hat or umbrella.

I would love to see pics of what others use to get some ideas of what works best!

Thanks,

Debbie

I too would be interested in seeing such pics, never knew about these bags, they sound like the perfect bags to have. Oops I should have just read further in the posts. I think I have some of the cross body bags and just didn't realize that's what they are.

I hope I have this figured out!

I started cleaning out my closet. I hope I have items someone will enjoy they aren't nearly as nice as Marie's!

I have a few different sizes and possibly something for the younger crowd. It's really been a long time since I cleaned out my closet!!

Blue embellished top and skirt size 1/2

Black long dress size small – Crisscross straps

Black and white halter long dress – size 8 – Needs to be cleaned

Palazzo pants size small (I think these are incorrectly size have always been too big. Probably a Medium) I have seen lots of ladies wear these on cruises. Sorry the picture is blurry but they are the slacks that look like a long skirt.

The above items are still available.

Marie,

Thanks for posting the pics! I LOVE looking at accessories! I just love Judith Leiber bags and keep saying I want to get one, but I would have to have a small strap (not even sure if they come with a strap) as I would be afraid of putting it down and walking off - I'm forgetful in my old age.

I also love the Chloe bag - the brown one - I could see wearing this one all of the time, esp in fall and winter - cute with jeans and boots.

These cross body bags are also great for my "casino trips". We like to go to Vegas and Atlantic City and other places and I feel more safe with my things close to me and it also allows me to use my hands for pushing the slot buttons! LOL

Debbie

My Judith Leiber has a short metal strap - cant carry on should but clearly not cross body - I have had mine for years - lets put it this way I was married when I got it - and I have divorced sine 2000 :D But it is timeless.

I agree cross body are great for casinos - and yes I am about 3 miles for AC today Debbie - and shortly off to the the outlets by Ceasars that you talked about. Going to hit Coach and Micahel Kors for me and my mom - she wants a lightweight cross body bad and the boys like the skate shops and few other stores - for 16 year old boys they are fashion horses

Sharon,

I have two vintage Louis Vuittons but they don't have straps and although I love them, they just aren't as functional for shopping, etc. And I'm the same way, some of my bags are high end and some are cheap little bags I find at Marshalls, etc. but I love them all the same! LOL

I've been a frequent visitor to the Coach Store at the outlets behind Caesars - I stop there each time we go up and get a bag for each of the girls that work for me! (Nothing like bribery to retain employees! LOL)

Have fun in AC tomorrow and keep the photos of the different bags everyone uses - I really want to find a nice tote that is fairly neutral and stylish; but that can take a beating during Port visits.

Debbie

Debbie - as I said I am at the shore but I just ordered one a few weeks ago from Travel Smith for our Baltic trip - http://www.travelsmith.com/daymakers-microfiber-26-polyester-security-guide-bag/travel-accessories/security-bags-belts-wallets/583901?defattrib=&defattribvalue=&listIndex=16

Not totally stylish BUT well made and for a small bag will carry alot.

Living in Northern VA (as I see you do also) do you every go out to the coach outlet in Leesburg - it is one of the largest that I have seen - I also love the Kate Spade one. While I live in Alexandria - I work (on the 2 -3 days I dont telecommute) in Herndon and I think I need to go out there after work in the next few weeks before my cruise (leave for Amsterdam on July 4th)

When I get home I will send some pictures. I also love my Brighton bag - but I need to get a new one as mine I think has seen its better days I used it so much

Hugs

Sharon

Sharon,

While I was typing my last post, your kind offer popped up. I really appreciate it but am not going to be too greedy and take all three offers. Maybe someone else can use this bag as it looks perfect for travel. Thank you so much for the offer!

Kathi

Hi Kathi,

I use exactly the same bag on my last cruise. I gave that one to my house cleaning lady. This one is new, it is your if you like. It is Marc Jacob.

Have a great Saturday.

Debbie - we will need to get together and I will take you out there - I live in the Mt. Vernon/Ft. Hunt area. But I am born and raised in South Jersey so the AC/Ventnor/ margate area is like my second home - my mom has a condo here as does my brother - I just come down and crash here.

My GF and I run a charity auction every November at the Belle Haven Country Club to raise funds for Mitochondrial Disease which my 3 boys have as does one of her sons. THe past couple of years we have aucitoned off a Sea Dreams Cruise.
