Dock at St. Petersburg?

Recommended Posts

In St. Petersburg, does anyone know where the Voyager docks? Am wondering if we should get our own visa to be able to get on and off at will. Is there anything to walk to from the dock or is it not worth it or just strictly commercial and industrial?

Thanks!

Which voyager and which date, there are several ships with Voyage in their name and each port call can be in a different port, there are 6 ports in St Petersburg.

Just got off the Eurodam yesterday. We docked in the new port in St. Petersburg. There is NOTHING near this near port whatsoever and my understanding is that there is NOTHING near the old industrial port either so no -- it is not an on and off at will kind of port.

As a matter of fact the city of St. Petersburg is nothing like the other ports on the Baltic Cruise and I very much recommend/encourage everyone to sign up for either a private tour or ship excursion.

We used SPB Tours and it was wonderful and worth every single penny. I would do it again in a flash. No regrets whatsoever. We got our money's worth. Absolutely.

As noted by the above posters, the main docks in St. Petersburg do NOT offer an easy or nice way to just "walk on in". Plus, as many other posts have noted, you need the special visa in Russia to enter there. AND, the Russian lettering is far different than what you see in other parts of Europe. Its letters are very confusing! Doing a ship's tour or private tour is the best and most time-efficient to make things happen there and enjoy this great city with its many wonderful options. It's a totally different situation and challenge here.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Just out of curiosity, do you know if the new port is closer to the city than is the cargo terminal port?

Thanks,
