Tatoos

I cruised on the Norwegian Sun a little over a month ago and about 90% of the women under 30 had permanent tattoos. I'm sure there were more tattoos that I couldn't see. :D

Okay, I'm probably dumb, I know. My wife and I are sailing on Pride on January 30 to the Mexican Riviera. She wants me to get one of those barbed wire or other kinds of tatoos that go around the bicep. My 26 year old daughter thinks it would be "awesome." Does anyone know of any reputable tatoo parlors in Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas or Puerto Vallarta that they'd recommend, or do you recommend what I want to do and that is, either get it in the US of A or tell them I'm too old for a tatoo?

If you value your health get your tatto in the US at a reputable parlor.

Rick, I'm sure with all the good advice you'll do well - namely, (1) only do it if YOU want to, not to please your wife or daughter, and (2) do it at a reputuable place near home if you decide to do it at all.

 

If I can add my personal opinion, I really do not like tatoos at all. I also think they can be a real hindrance in business situations where they really hold you back (no pun intended). It can be perceived as a "class" thing (rightly or wrongly, but perception is ....)

No one should *ever* get a tattoo because someone else wants them to. :rolleyes:

 

If *you* don't want it, for whatever the reason, don't get it.

I have to say I'm touched!! I posted what I thought was an innocuous thread about tatoos and opened up a Pandora's Box. Let me take the opportunity to thank everyone who was concerned about my health and welfare. I may get a tatoo - someday - and if and when I do, I'll get it here in the good old US of A. In the meantime, I'm 20 days from Victory and I already have our luggage in the living room half full.

There is a very good tattoo palor in downtown Cabo San Lucas (in the same shopping center as the Supermercado & the internet cafe). They are clean & safe, and do very nice work.

I heard that the definition of "Tatoo" is:
