lateuk Posted June 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2009 Do they show sporting events on the MOTS screen? I was wondering if there would be any overage of the Ashes while i'm away on the Grand?
stump300 Posted June 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2009 Not sure what they are doing this year, but last year when we were on the Crown Princess in the Caribbean, they showed the Memphis/Kansas final game on MUTTS. If was fantastic!!

-Lew- Posted June 12, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2009 On a recent cruise, a Brit explained Cricket to me in great detail. I left the table more confused than ever. Lew
JPRLHR Posted June 12, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 12, 2009 Just curious, who or what are the Ashes? The Ashes is the name of the Cricket test series between England and Australia and it's always massive..!! Dates back to the late 1800's and is one of the fiercest rivalries in all of world sport. Rare English Tim Posted June 12, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 12, 2009 I think a special request might work, but whatever is shown on MUTS should appeal to the majority. I think you'll find the cricket will appeal to the minority. Perhaps it could be shown in the cabin?

Sadly, you won't get any Ashes coverage on MUTS. The best you can hope for is to see a clip of the highlights during the sports news on ESPN in your room but even then I wouldn't hold out too much hope. Druke I Posted June 12, 2009 #11 Share Posted June 12, 2009 I understand completely. My dad was a Brit (from Sidcup Kent). He tried to explain cricket to me also - I just didn't get it!

You can buy a great Tea Towell over here that explains Cricket to foreigners... Here's how it read's. "THE INS AND OUTS OF CRICKET" You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.Each man that's in the side that's ingoes out, and when he's out he comes in,and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's outcomes in, and the side that's been in goesout ... Simples..!! :D:D

haggis Posted June 12, 2009 #15 Share Posted June 12, 2009 They did show the Grand Prix live on MUTS May on the Med cruise. Failing that the Ashes could be shown in the sports bar, 'Shooters' Deck 6, in front of the casino. Jimmy

VibeGuy Posted July 9, 2009 #19 Share Posted July 9, 2009 Aren't the Grand itineraries like 10,14 days? That doesn't quite seem like enough time to televise a single cricket test. ;0) *ducks*

lauralou2 Posted July 11, 2009 #25 Share Posted July 11, 2009 Consider this would British based P and O show American football on any of there ships i don't think so therefore it follows that American based Princess will not show the Ashes series on Muts , however you might get it on the stateroom TV . Enjoy the Grand she's our favourite ship so far :)
