Spirit/Vista Class hybrid - Could these come to Carnival soon?

Recommended Posts

Doc, these were mainstay ships in the 90s... I sailed on a 7 day cruise on the Inspiration in the late 90s and she was GREAT!

We've recently seen a return to the 7 day formula for the Fantasy class when the Swine Flu reared it's ugly head.

These ships are WELL capable of longer voyages.

The former Celebration, now the Grand Celebration, is doing trans Atlantic sailings from Spain to South America as the first ship of the IberoCruise fleet.

It's not the capability of the ship... it's the demands of the market...

:)

I agree, it's the 3 B's that attract the market. Bells, buzzers (innovations) and balconies.

Carnival is making a significant investment on the Fantasy hulls that will probably add 15 years to their life.

Afterwards I expect them to do the same with the Destiny hulls. Refurbish and repurpose is a hell of a lot cheaper then building new.

Here are some ideas for the themes of the ships if they are built:

Innovation

The theme of this ship would be a futuristic theme of new technology, primarily using blue and chrome as its color scheme.

Revolution:

The Revolution, as its name suggests, would have a theme of the industrial revolution, with a focus on engineering. Colors would mostly include brown, bronze, gray, and black.

Prophecy:

The Prophecy would have a theme based on paranormal research, such as psychics, telepathy, and so on. Colors would mostly include purple and black.

Endeavor:

The Endeavor would have a theme based on having elements of different cultures around the world. Since various cultures may have different colors, each section of the ship should have their own color scheme based on the culture that it represents.

Beauty:

The Beauty would have a theme representing beautiful things from the modern era. Colors would mostly be warm colors, especially red, orange, and copper.
