Rare uktog Posted June 24, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2009 Aagh I love Azamara to bits but the frustrations of trying to set things up with the UK office is enough to drive a woman straight to some large martinis and it is only 11am. I have today tried to make our reservations for one booking only in Prime C ahead of our next trip which is less than 60 days away and yes we are Captains Club members I have been on the phone for an hour to the Weybridge number, have been to 4 departments and still made no progress. What really frustrates me is the level of ignorance of the agents. I have been told * I can only do it on line (no its not posssible on line)...well you need to reset your pc and you will see the online section as I can see it (really??) * UK passengers cannot book Speciality restaurants in advance .....no not true * You should just go to the Speciality restaurant on the night you want and it will be ok ...imagine that!! Anyway we are now in a situation where they are investigating if we can have a reservation but have advised this is not a normal request ?? - think they have agreed that only because I was persistent It matters a lot to us to have the reservation on the day we want (special day etc) so I do not want to leave it to chance as I did on our last trip when I failed to get a booking and by the time we boarded ship they could do nothing for my birthday except at a time that really was far too late (we took it but it was not ideal) Anyone got a direct number and contact or email address for someone in for the UK (not really wanting at this stage to spend ages on an international call) Thanks Rant over!!! lisiamc Posted June 24, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2009 If I were in your situation, I would just bite the bullet and phone the US Captain's Club number. (You probably already have it, but 316-554-5961, just in case.) I think the extra cost will be worth ending the frustration you're having now. Sparkle 123 Posted June 24, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2009 UKTOG The number in the UK for the capt club desk is 01733 865437. I booked Aqualina through them with no problems in April. Hope you get some joy, they are so misinformed at Weybridge!! Let me know how you get on Lisa
Rare uktog Posted June 25, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted June 25, 2009 The number worked a treat thanks however I was told that for a table for 2 I can only book for 1800 or 1830 - (too early) or 2100 or 2130 (too late). It was not a question of no tables available it is that they will not accept bookings for 2 people other than at these times. If we were a group of 4 or 6 they would. I really hope this is not going to be the case on board as well as eating in either Prime C or Aqualine was very important to us based on our previous experience with Azamara
Sparkle 123 Posted June 26, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 26, 2009 Hi Yes I had the same experience. I took the 9.00 reservation. I'm sure you could go and see the Maitre d, he had a desk at the check in area when we baorded at Civitaveccia and change the time. We also booked a 2nd night Aqualina as soon as we boarded, glad we did as all the reservations were taken after the first day. We have had the same response when pre booking the Celebrity speciality dining with Capt club but when you book online the other times are available. Shame you can't do that on Azamara. Hi We sailed last month on the Quest. I prebooked (Captains club member) a table for 2 for 7pm. No problem. I emailed www.celebritycruises.co.uk (for UK residents) Also when you board the ship you are asked again when you would like to dine. We are SS grade so it is possible they keep these times for the suites? It does take quite a while to get a response from them but the above site was given to me as the correct site for outside of North America. Rare uktog Posted June 28, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted June 28, 2009 It seems we can get a booking for 2000 if I have heard the message on my voicemail correct but I will be checking when we board - at least we have a booking Piscean as we are in a suite I was told when I originally called it made no difference and (as I had already heard) we were also restricted to 1 pre sailing reservation. No problem we will sort things out on board A
Andy Posted June 28, 2009 #8 Share Posted June 28, 2009 Hi Everyone ! I highly recommend you see the Specialty Dining Maitre'd as soon as you board the ship. It is very possible they can arrange for a table for 2 at a more desirable hour. I hope this helps !
Rare uktog Posted June 28, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted June 28, 2009 Thanks Andy that was the plan as we will want another 4 or 5 reservations as we loved both restaurants so much last trip. It is so frustrating in the UK the knowledge of the product at the call centre is so limited but thanks to CC we are well armed with knowledge Ann
Project_gal Posted June 30, 2009 #10 Share Posted June 30, 2009 UKTOGThe number in the UK for the capt club desk is 01733 865437. A Peterborough number! I think that this makes it a little clearer because this is very likely to be a specialist travel conceige service [i know to be based there] and not Azamara/RCCL themselves. They will just be following a script. It would also explain why the folks at Weybridge are unable to help. I wonder if they do the same in the US?
