woodworker&knitter Posted July 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2009 We have 2 days in Vancouver prior to our cruise and was wondering if anyone has ever eaten at the Raincity Grill? We saw it on the 100 Mile challenge on the Food Network yesterday?
Putterdude Posted July 6, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2009 Been a few years since I have eaten there but know it to be a very good restaurant. Drove by it 10 days ago but that hardly consitutes a review.;) http://www.raincitygrill.com/aboutus.cfm

woodworker&knitter Posted July 7, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted July 7, 2009 Thank you Putterdude and scottbee, I think I'll stick with my first choice of Tojo's or Joe Fortes Barbara
beautifulbc2 Posted July 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2009 You cant go wrong with Tojos or Joe Fortes, what about Umberto's?
koolforkatz Posted July 8, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 8, 2009 Raincity Grill is very nice - you could always just have lunch there. If you can get an outdoor table it's a great place to people watch and a beautiful view. Food is very, very good. Joe Fortes would be a great place for dinner... and if you love sushi then Tojo's is definitely the place to go. One more suggestion - Vij's for the most amazing Indian meal you may ever have. HillbillyInBC Posted July 8, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 8, 2009 One more suggestion - Vij's for the most amazing Indian meal you may ever have. No exaggeration there. But don't bother calling to make a reservation, as they don't take them. Just show up and stand in line with the rest of us. Trust me, it's worth the wait. woodworker&knitter Posted July 9, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted July 9, 2009 Thank you for all your help. I've eaten at Umberto's on a previous visit to Van.. I do like to try different restaurants. I always wanted to eat at Lumiere, but since Rob Feenie is no longer there, I will try something else. My daughter , 16yr old grandaughter and I love sushi and Indian food, so I think we will be quite happy with all your suggestions. Thanks again
koolforkatz Posted July 9, 2009 #10 Share Posted July 9, 2009 One thing, too, if you watched the 100 Mile Challenge, Virkram Vij the owner, was on it. It was the episode when he demonstrated making parathas with crickets. http://www.vijs.ca/index_in.htm
ell52 Posted July 9, 2009 #11 Share Posted July 9, 2009 Since you had thought of trying Lumiere, you might like West: http://www.westrestaurant.com/index.html :)
