? Costs of Bingo/Drink of Day??

I know it is minor but when you are cruising with your 4 sons, all over 21, but kids at heart,I need to know how to budget since I am paying for most of it.

 

Carnival Cruises Bingo costs? How much does it cost to play bingo? And I know they play bingo every day.

 

What typically is the cost of the Drink of the Day?l

 

Since Bingo played 4 days with 4 kids and me that's 20 bingo cards at least so $$$$

And 4 days with 4 21+ boys and me that's 20 drinks of the day... so $$$$

Bingo cards are $10 a piece or three for $20. If they are playing multiple games, you can re-use the cards. The DOD is usually $6.95 in a souvenir glass - some souvenir glasses (the monkey head, funnel glass) are more. I am not sure how much they take off for the DOD in a regular glass - never had one that way!

So that will be $100 a day for Bingo!! $400 for our short cruise!! Ouch!

Well.... it is a vacation and you're supposed to have fun! ;)

 

I should mention that they also have Bar Manager's daily drink specials which are usually $3.95. Those are normally bloody mary's, screwdrivers, margarita's, mimosa's, etc.

If I am not mistaken I think there is a DOD card they offer. You may want to check into that. It may save you some money in the long run. Also with bingo you don't have to play all of them. You can pick the best ones to play for. You can also get beer by the bucket which may be cheaper for you if you like beer. I think you save a buck if you don't get the souvenier cup for the DOD.

I think DOD usually runs around $6 plus tip. Once you have the souvenir glass you can save around $1 or $2 per drink.

Bingo is about $20 per session per person for a board with three cards on it (used for the whole session).

Keep in mind that they play bingo sometimes more than once a day, or the time is messed up due to late dining. Also the drinks cards would be good for you. 4 sons might be really busy and miss bingo but might be into the casino instead:eek: good luck and have fun! Karon

Those drink specials are only good if you buy them before noon.

On Carnival Splendor, we had one day with Bargain Bingo ($5 card/$10 triple-card) and one day with no bingo at all (and one day with, if I remember correctly, three bingo games). There were also scratch-off tickets for $1 each.

 

Like someone already said, decide which games look the most interesting to you, and do pay attention to the descriptions. One day we bought our $20 card and then discovered that they were only playing a single game. Ew! (Thank goodness for OBC.) The session with seven games was fun.

 

The session to win a cruise was stressful; it came down to a tie, and each party had to draw a single ball - highest one won. (I felt sorry for the losing party until we played trivia with them later. Using your smartphone to look up all the answers is really low, even if it isn't against the rules.)

 

There will be so many activities, you won't feel bad if you don't hit every session. Also, what about sharing cards? Each person can be in charge of a certain section - great bonding time. :)

The DOD card is about $26 and can be used for 5 DODs throughout the cruise. This is only good for the fruity specials that they have everyday, so if your sons prefer other drinks like martinis or rum and cokes, long islands, etc. the card wont be good for any of that. I have heard however that sometimes they let you use the card for those drinks(the more expensive ones) and you just pay the difference.

We played bingo once for $20 for 3 cards. It was over in less than 10 balls and we never played again.
