Cookie2boys Posted July 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Just for fun, I was wondering how much credit you received by booking with Early Saver? We cruise in November and I'll be happy if I could get at least $100 credit. Also was wondering if your cruise is not paid in full, would you get onboard credit or would the credit go towards your unpaid balance?
firefly333 Posted July 13, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2009 You would get the balance you owe reduced if the price dropped before final payment. So far, Im not saving anything, 3 early savers, only one dropped $10, so I upgraded one category, and now owe them $10 pp extra.
marym933 Posted July 13, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2009 I am going on a cruise with a group from work. We're not an "official" Carnival group, the cabins were all booked separately. I was able to convert to "senior" rate for 2 of the cabins. We have received 2 price adjustments for a total of $120 per cabin for OV and $60 per cabin for inside. There has been no adjustment for the other cabins.
ksatte03 Posted July 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2009 $230 in obc! :D
bdink921 Posted July 13, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2009 $400 OBC and a couple of price drops prior to final payment. The price drops prior to final payment came off of our unpaid balance. We did really well with the early saver program.
Rare chasinraynbowz Posted July 13, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 13, 2009 We cruise on 8/31. I have had 2 price drops and one upgrade. One price drop while we still owed money.. so the balance dropped. After we paid, I noticed that 6B cabins were the same as I paid for a 6A, so I upgraded. We then had one more price drop of $44pp, so we have $88 in OBC. Since then, we have reached the 60 day mark and it seems the prices are rising.
CalifCruiser1 Posted July 13, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Before paying in full we had two price drops for a total of $800 per person yup $800 its for our Alaska cruise and its for a midship extended balcony I feel I hit the jackpot. jrmende63 Posted July 13, 2009 #8 Share Posted July 13, 2009 300.00 today came off the price of my cruise. I think it is only OBC if the cruise is paid in full. Yay, 300 to buy excursions with!!
gazingm42 Posted July 13, 2009 #9 Share Posted July 13, 2009 So far $320 for the cabin. Just occured this weekend, so it should be a fare reduction. As we have 8 more months before we sail ...
Jsme Posted July 13, 2009 #10 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Mine is a bit different I purchased our cruise with a 2 Cat upgrade. Then tranferred it to ES. It is hard to get much of a drop when you get an upgrade when you first book. We have received $80 drop total though. I was thrilled with this when the room we first booked got the 2 Cat upgrade for $60 less. I feel good with the $60 drop in the ES program. jenng1976 Posted July 13, 2009 #11 Share Posted July 13, 2009 We got final payment reduced by $200 total - plus a category upgrade from 8A ot 8G (which would have cost about $240 each if we had purchased that cabin to begin with). Can't wait to try out the aft balcony! I'm happy :)
recyclelady Posted July 13, 2009 #12 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Only $20 pp so far on our OV 6B cabin. About 7 months until we cruise, however, so I have my fingers crossed.
SURPRISE1 Posted July 13, 2009 #13 Share Posted July 13, 2009 We had several price reductions prior to making final payment and now we have $570 in OBC. We are heading to Mexico and the Swine Flu scare added to our price reduction.
Kissyfur19 Posted July 13, 2009 #14 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Nothing for us - our cruise has not come close to the price we paid for the Early Saver. Which is fine by me, because I think we got a fabulous deal!
mom2tcdx2 Posted July 13, 2009 #15 Share Posted July 13, 2009 We got a decrease of $40 back in May because the 3/4 guest rates dropped. However since we booked 1/2 person have gone up $120 so I guess we booked at the right time. I don't anticipate the price dropping at this point below what we paid, but if it does it will be nice. I am guessing if it drops it will only go back down to what we paid.
BaseballMomof4 Posted July 13, 2009 #16 Share Posted July 13, 2009 I booked as a past guest first. When it got to 5 months, 3 days, I switched my three sons to ES and saved $140 off the PG rate.
freddymale Posted July 13, 2009 #17 Share Posted July 13, 2009 the price on my sept 29th cruise has gone up about $300 since I booked my cruise
cascole Posted July 13, 2009 #18 Share Posted July 13, 2009 So far I have saved $140 per person on one cabin & $10pp on the other for my Thanksgiving cruise. (same category but booked at different times/rates).
KenMo Posted July 13, 2009 #19 Share Posted July 13, 2009 So far, $130pp. And we have two cabins. I was thrilled because one cabin is a 9A and I've rarely seen them drop.
bobar Posted July 13, 2009 #20 Share Posted July 13, 2009 since we booked our ES fare on the 10/31 Liberty the best price available for the same category is now $130 more pp. Glad we did the ES:cool:
stefyo Posted July 13, 2009 #21 Share Posted July 13, 2009 I have received $130 in price drops - our final payment is due this Friday - hoping for another one between now and then!
Seafor2 Posted July 13, 2009 #22 Share Posted July 13, 2009 I think ours was $50 pp and it was right before our final payment was due so it came off the payment. With this rate, I'm beginning to think we stole this cruise. :o
dvan68 Posted July 13, 2009 #23 Share Posted July 13, 2009 They must have just done a price drop over the weekend. We are looking at the Liberty for Feb or March next year - and the price went down $300 since Friday - on the 9A's at least.
want2gosailing2 Posted July 13, 2009 #24 Share Posted July 13, 2009 We did the early saver for the Miracle in October paid in full the day of the booking. Right now even with the new early saver rates and on board credits I have saved over 300 bucks. We decided on an inside room since we have never been in one, and we are hardly ever in the room anyway. I know others have said early saver program isn't a deal, but it hard to convince me of that when I look at all the pricing.
rickcop44 Posted July 13, 2009 #25 Share Posted July 13, 2009 You'll have to excuse my ignorance here, but I thought one of the requirements booking Early Saver was that you got the lowest price to begin with. Is everyone here saying that those who booked ES can also experience a price drop?
