Rome hotel to airport (FCO)

best would be a private helicopter AND most economical would be walking.

More practical solutions depend on how many travelers, how much luggage, travelers' mobility, time needed to be at the airport and the location of the hotel.

LOL ... great sense of humor!:)

To the OP: A taxi or private shuttle to the airport should run about 40 euros (for 2-4 people), and 60 euros (for 6 people). Your hotel can arrange for a taxi or private shuttle. Our hotel offered this service when we made our reservation, and we confirmed the need for it at that time (for airport pick up upon arrival). We paid the driver for this service, so no advance payment required.

The train from the Termini-Airport is 11 euros pp.

If you provide some of the info suggested by ab0si, there'll probably be some other recommendations given.

OK- here is more info! There are two of us with 3 large bags and 2 carry ons. Our hotel is in Central Rome. Our flight leaves at 9:30am.

I always prefer that after a long flight an arranged car is the best way.

I agree. Your hotel can arrange a private car to FCO for around 40 - 45 euros. This is a low stress way to get to FCO and is less expensive than taking a taxi to the Termini train station and then the Leonardo Express train to FCO.

the first train from Termini (the main rail station of Rome) leaves at 5:52 and takes a little over 30 minutes to get to FCO. If your hotel is close to Termini, you might consider hopping on the train (it always uses platform 25.

If it is too far for you to walk from the hotel to the station, a private car or taxi is a better idea. Note, however, that the standard taxi/car will probably not be large enough to handle two passengers, three large bags plus miscellany, so make sure a van-type beast is ordered for you.

There are airport shuttles, but the cost difference between these and a taxi is rather small for two people and a car is faster (no other stops).

Your hotel can pre-arrange for a taxi with a reputable company for 40 to 45 Euros. BTW, with only two passengers, there will be plenty of room for your luggage between the trunk and the unoccupied front passenger seat of your taxi.

For our 10:20 AM flight from Rome on Monday, June 22, with three large bags, carry-on and C-pap machine, we left our hotel at 7:30 AM and got to the terminal in 40 minutes. You will probably need to leave your hotel around 6:45 AM. to give yourself the suggested two hours.
