Westin Bayshore or Fairmont Waterfront?

They both would have great views but it would really depend on which way your room faced - as the Bayshore is right on the water it would have a slight advantage provided you don't get a room facing south and also get one up higher. The Fairmont will give you better views of Canada Place and the Cruise ships - preferred view would be facing north - south will give you the downtown business core.

 

Others will probably have some thoughts as well.

Just to add to what UT said, at the Bayshore, you will also be looking at the Coal Harbour Marina and Stanley Park (if you are facing North, or North West).

 

Either of these hotels have the potential for good views of the North Shore mountains and the water provided your room is facing North. With the Fairmont, however, you would have to stay on a higher floor because your view will be somewhat blocked by Canada Place on the lower floors. The Bayshore has practically nothing blocking its north-facing rooms.

What happened to the Pan which is across the street and right on the water. At either the fairmont or the pan you want the views of Stanley park and the mts. Cost more but so worth it.

ellbon: I'd done a bunch of research (various websites) trying to get a feel of which hotel would best suit us. I'd considered Pan, but for some reason (can't remember now), it seemed that Bayshore or Waterfront would be a better bet for us. (Do you have a strong preference for Pan over Fairmont?)
