cruisetobeaches Posted October 26, 2009 #51 Share Posted October 26, 2009 If smokers really spend much more on alcohol and gambling than non-smokers why we don't have all smoking ships? bobsfamily Posted October 26, 2009 #54 Share Posted October 26, 2009 That day is here (at least partially)! Celebrity cabins AND balconies are totally non-smoking!:) Last time I looked Celebrity is a cruise line and is not a Carnival ship.. So NO it's not here on Carnival. sharecruises Posted October 26, 2009 #61 Share Posted October 26, 2009 The good news is that John Heald has assured us Carnival is "working" on this the newest ships have Spa cabins that are totally NON smoking...with a $250 fine if someone smokes in them..even the balcony is non smoking the new Splendor has the whole Lido/pool deck non smoking (cause it has retractable roof) the aft pool on some of the ships...Destiny for one...is now totally non smoking the "lounge" where the "cover band' (Filipino?) band plays is now non smoking..just 2 years ago that was smoking some of the ships "cigar bar" was in the way of the of the internet cafe etc so they have stopped cigars there *(and put them in sports bar) best news is the new Dream...Casino is mostly non smoking...only a small area and they have to gamble while they smoke, not stand or walk around puffing away NO cigar bar...just an area outslde NO sports bar the area around the piano bar is non smoking and of course the spa floors are non smoking soooooo..things are looking up I will repeat my own predictions... features on the Dream will roll out on the other ships one by one when ships have drydock, they will probably add non smoking cabins "spa cabins" more places will be non smoking look for more changes in the New Year, with each drydock, and when the Magic rolls out for those who wish to smoke freely...I suggest the Asian cruiselines...Asians have a very high rate of smokers and very few restrictions
laffnatu Posted October 27, 2009 #62 Share Posted October 27, 2009 I was wondering why I hadn't gone into the Casino last trip. Now I remember - it was the smoke. So much that just going by, you could smell it in the hallway. That's too bad. I was going to try my luck this cruise but guess I won't. More money for me to spend on other things!:) I agree with you there. Too much smoke in the casino.
SDPadreFan Posted October 27, 2009 #63 Share Posted October 27, 2009 Ok. But it's up front. It's honest. Is there any part that isn't true. You may not like what I have to say, but you'll have a hard time arguing the logic.
