Any smoke-free cruises?

As already posted.....not on Carnival.

But you can get a Cloud 9 Spa cabin on Splendor and Dream (when it starts sailing) that are smoke-free. But there will still be smoking allowed in some public areas of the ships.

I would recommend Oceania. I have not had the pleasure of sailing with them yet....but I look forward to it one day...

RCCL does not allow smoking in the cabins...but does still allow it on the balconies.

Celebrity has a more restricted policy than RCCL...from what I understand.

I would research those three lines.

Carnival used to have the Pride as a totally smoke free ship. I guess they had a hard time finding enough non-smokers to fill it.

I am fine with smokers because there are plenty of open air places for them to smoke.

I really wish they would ban smoking in the casino. As it is, the smokers give me a good reason to save my money and avoid the casino.

Just one note:

The Paradise (Fantasy Class) was the smoke-free ship. (now in California)

I was wondering why I hadn't gone into the Casino last trip. Now I remember - it was the smoke. So much that just going by, you could smell it in the hallway. That's too bad. I was going to try my luck this cruise but guess I won't. More money for me to spend on other things!:)

Some ships are doing smoke free nights in the Casino, so watch you Caper to see if they offer it.

I wish they would make the piano bar smoke free. I can't imagine the piano players like all that second hand smoke either.

Unless they smoke, that is. Then his/her cigarette bill is lightened.

Just joking :D:D:D.

Can't bother them too much, they choose to work there.

We sailed on the Paradise the last year she was smoke free. You had to sign an agreement that you would not smoke on board, or bring any smoking items on board with you, unless you turned it in to security, and then checked it out while in port. If you were caught smoking, they would put you off at the next port with no compensation or refund.

We loved the smoke free cruise!

If CCL had moved the Paradise around to different embarkation ports with different schedules, they might have been able to keep her non-smoking, but people got tired of having to go to Miami and visit the same ports. I also had heard that the casino and alcohol revenues on the Paradise were lower than other ships in the fleet. I guess that the non-smoking crowd did not gamble or drink as much as the smokers. LOL

I bought a $5 chip in the casino as a keepsake because on one side it had a huge No Smoking Red Circle with the slash in it

Just got off a week ago from the Carnival Paradise. It was surprising to us that the casino was completely non-smoking for the 4-day (Mon-Fri) cruises but does allow smoking on the 3-day (aka weekend or booze cruises!) As DH and I have both quit smoking, this wasn't an issue, but we'd have been not happy if we were still smoking and had neglected to do our homework and found that out after we got on the ship.

We have medical conditions that are exacerbated by cigarette smoke and over the years, the casino and the ships through walkway allowed smoking and we couldn't spend much time in the casino because with the smoking going on outside the casino, since it is all open, it became terrible in a short time. We cruised on the Destiny and the Victory within the last year and found that smoking is much more restricted to the open deck areas. Even alot of the lounges are smoke free now. You can still smoke in the casino but on both ships we found that stopping people from smoking along that walkway that went the length of the ship made a difference even in the casino. We were on the cruise out of PR, famous for alot of smokers but with the smoking restricted to only a few areas, most of the open to the air, it was a pleasant change from previous years. We spent quite alot of time in the casino and the lounges and I can really say that even though it is not a "smoke-free" cruise, there has been alot done to minimize the impact for non smokers on board.

Oh Dear Lawd... here we go again. I'm surprised OP didn't know the answer, with as many posts on CC. I honestly am not trying to be mean, but these threads are so frequent and get so heated, the drive me bonkers. Sharecruises (or whatever) will be here before we know it reminding us how things are a changin'

It was the Paradise not the Pride that was smoke free!

As far as wishing they would make the casino smoke free, I really don't see it happening any time in the near future. But you just never know, all depends on the nonsmoker and how much money you are willing to let loose of to support the cause. Something to think about?

Glad to hear that it is still this way. The Casino Hosts were testing it out earlier in the year.

I think we are going towards more non smoking venues in all aspects. If enough people request it Cruise lines will become even more restricted

I would like no smoking in all cabins and balconies and a large non smoking casino area

Maybe one day .....

I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to sail the Paradise but didn't mainly because of these reason given. I don't like sailing out of Miami and I didn't like the itinerary! Even so, I about the time I could have gone it was switched over to smoking. :(

Also, I think the revenues where a big part of the equation. After all most non-smokers tend not to drink or gamble as much and stay up late doing the same. ;)
