CintiPam Posted October 7, 2009 #26 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Hi, Carole, yes, the Athens Cypria is a couple of blocks west down the hill from the Syntagma Square metro stop. (The Airotel Parthenon is right by the Acropoli metro stop.) The metro stop in Piraeus (which actually is the terminus for the green line) is a 20-minute walk from the cruise ship terminal, so with luggage, I recommend a taxi direct from your hotel for the 20-minute, seven-mile ride from central Athens to Piraeus port. The ride will cost an Athenian about 12 Euros, but will cost a tourist around 20 or 25!!:)
sunsetbeachgal Posted October 7, 2009 #27 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Thanks Pam...everything we read says that tourists can expect to "over pay" (notice I did not say "get ripped off" ) by the Athens taxi drivers,,,appreciate the hotel advice!
