lrmrtn Posted July 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2009 We are 30-somethings without kids looking for a Caribbean cruise that is more adult-friendly and not necessarily kid-friendly. We are looking to leave from Florida and go around late February-early March 2010. We are not too picky on itineraries but would like a stop in Mexico to see the Mayan ruins if possible. Does anyone have any suggestions on cruise line, ship, itinerary, etc.? Thanks!
Rare LHT28 Posted July 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2009 A few of the upscale lines will have less children That time frame school are out on Break so you will probably get a ship load on the mass market lines Oceania, Azamara, Regent, Silversea & Seaborn may not have as many It depends on your budget
BroncosFan2010 Posted July 26, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2009 Usually cruises that are more than a week (10 or more days) will have fewer children. If luxury lines are out of the question because of price, this is a great way to experience an adult-friendly cruise on a mass market line. Another option is to go on some of the smaller/older ships. The newer ships are larger and have more things that cater to families.
kitty9 Posted July 26, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2009 Stay away from Carnival, RCI, NCL. Those have the most kids. If you can swing a longer cruise, like over 10 days, the chances of a lot of kids are pretty small. I've traveled on Celebrity nearly every February or March, staying away from President's Week or Easter break, and you could count the number of kids on board with one hand. Rare Keith1010 Posted July 27, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2009 The luxury cruise lines will have far less children than the other cruise lines. If you go with other cruise lines I would go with February. Spring break in March varies by school, etc. so you will see children on many cruises througout the month. Shifra Posted July 27, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 27, 2009 If luxury cruising is a bit more than you're looking for I would try Princess, Holland America or Celebrity. I agree you should stick with late February.
Travelcat2 Posted July 27, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Definitely stay away from President's week -- around February 19th I think. Actually, Caribbean cruises seem to target seniors and kids. Not the best itineraries. Just my opinion.

ILoveScotland Posted July 27, 2009 #9 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Someone said stay away from RCCL. Not sure about that. Remember, too, that during the school year you are not likely too have many children, and if there are children on board they're likely to be pre-school age and not running rampant everywhere.
