toto, too funny! we all have the same thing happen at one time or another--our brains work faster than we can type i think. :)

Actually, I have the opposite problem I think. My fingers type faster than my brain can think. Pia knows I am just funnin with her (I hope), as she has made me clean my monitor quite often. ;)

As for the champagne, sometimes it is only around 4 PM ( a little before or after that they are going around with it in the suite area. It's hard for them to hang around and just wait for someone to turn up to serve a glass to. If you see your Steward when arriving to your mini ask what time they will be serving the champagne. Sometimes they are serving it early if several of their cabins have people in them, sometimes later. As with everything else, it seems to always vary not only ship to ship but sometimes with the Steward.

NO Robes were in our cabins, again.

The last cruise we were on and now off past Tuesday 08/04/2009 A.D. no Robes were in any of our Cabins.

The Princess Caribbean Princess ( CB ) is the Cruise Lines largest in passenger capacity of all there 17 ships.

PS: For you ladies which don't seem to like to wear robes and be shirtless also.. only a few cruise lines allow that. Some do have topless decks.

The new nude requirements from the Hotel in the German Black Forest may well be a nice facility for ya....;)

I absolutely cringe any time I see someone come into the buffet wearing a robe. Or without a man without a shirt.

Lets get back to this man without the shirt a minute...........maybe I'll escort him back to my cabin and say to heck with the bathrobes:D;)

Toto

I'm sure, I always got the terry robes (a suite amenity) since becoming elite, and I have 27 completed cruises with Princess so I have been elite for a while. Do you have a citation to the Princess website which would state that I am wrong or that you are right? If so, I will concede to your version of the policy and your apparent encyclopedic knowledge of the practice on every Princess ship. Also I do not confuse RCI with Princess which is why I keep coming back to Princess.

Another person who isn't elite (yet)...just three cruises on Princess so far, who has been able to get robes for our family. I think they were in our cabin for our 2003 cruise without asking, in our cabin per our CP request for our 2004 cruise, and we had to ask our steward, even with CP request, for it on the first day. There were stains on one , but it had been at the laundry so at least it was clean. They were one-size fits all, but not too small for us (including the 8-yr-old who was small).

I have yet to see if this works or not, but on the personalizer, under "onboard preferences" there is a place to check if you want a robe or not. We have it checked "yes".

We are doing our first Princess in several years, Sept 23/Sept 26, so will see if checking that box works or not. We will be in a full suite for the three day coastal, but on the 7 day we move to a mini suite. I am elite as well, so as I said will be interesting.

I really don't think the check box does anything in this case - I seriously doubt the detail information other than queen/twin gets to the steward. They always seem surprised when I ask for the robe.

Now can we talk about the mythical welcome glass of champagne. HAve to yet to ever receive one. Always in a mini and elite....

Have gotten two - both in mini's. The first was served by our butler !!! Remember them? That was 2000 when a minisuite came with a butler and a steward' date=' and the butler brought canapes and tea in the afternoon. Haven't seen one since.

ps: i also promise not to wear a robe in the buffet--mostly because the one size fits most, only fits most, not all of me!
You can not wear whatever pleases you to not wear. When we meet on our So. America cruise you will note that my body is not in the "fits most" category. I really should do something about that...:(

i figure we can ask for 2 bathrobes and wear one backwards. (but not in the buffet :)). and maybe the bathrobes shrunk? it wouldn't be most of us growing...:D

With all due respect, Robes are not a benefit of any status on Princess. Everyone can request a bathrobe in their stateroom, you don't have to be Elite or Platinum to receive them for your use onboard. It doesn't matter which category you book either. Insides, outsides, obstructed, balcony and mini suites receive the waffle type robes (one size fits most is all that is available though). Full suites receive a thicker terry cloth robe. ;)

DW always handles this for us, but if we don't have them when we arrive, she asks for them and...they appear a short time later...I LOVE cruising:D

Had to ask Room Steward for robes. Received on our second day. We were in Mini Suite and had requested robes to be in cabin when we completed our pre cruise info. Also had to

ask for champagne.

Do NOT like to see passengers walking around ship in bath robes. On our cruise there was

a couple ladies that would show up at Buffet wearing their white robes. :( Bad taste!!!

I agree with your observation totally. Bath robes on a ship are not like beach robes, they are for use in the stateroom. But then, that is just the way I feel about it, I am sure others think it is perfectly fine, I just happen to be one that feels as you and think it's ridiculous.

I find it sort of amazing when I see people walking around in them too. It just kind of takes me aback a bit, like the old game - what in this picture does not belong.

I always laugh, because the first time I ever asked for them, my 6'7" hubby tried one on and it looked absolutely hilarious. I always joke when I see someone wearing one that people would really stare if my DH ever ventured out in one!

Really, they are fine for a private balcony or the spa, but don't seem too appropriate for deck wear.

Got to love those terry robes!

Just came back from cruise to Alaska on the Island Princess. Went in a day early and stayed at the Westin Bayshore in Vancover and there was a lady in the lobby with the full terry fluffy robe for all to enjoy.

Not my cup of tea, for the lobby that is!!

I actually was going through my emails from the Captain's Circle. I don't empty my trash bin on Yahoo very often and I probably have several years worth of Captain's Circle updates there. :o All I found was the new info on the mini bar announced (maybe what you were looking for last month)? If you didn't find what you were looking for, here is the link to that update ;) http://content.princess.com/princess/?jlJkWPejbYRWORNaN9sYUtMT5g25mIANj

Hey Toto. . .I never thanked you for this. So a very belated THANK YOU!

I have scrolled right through but am amazed that nobody has mentioned the slippers.

We took our throw away Princess slippers with us on the last cruise and the steward insisted we bin them and brought us fresh ones.

Do they not get them automatically in every cabin?

No, everyone does not receive Princess slippers. If my memory is functioning correctly this morning, mini suites, Elite members of the Captain's Circle, and full suites are the only passengers that slippers are provided for.

Not that I care, but I don't remember seeing slippers in our cabin on the cruises since we made Elite.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Also the "amenities" are always different. Sometimes they have included lip balm and a loofsa, etc., sometimes not.

Also, we have never gotten everything in the same cruise, i.e. the slippers but not the amenities, or half the amenities but no slippers.:confused::confused:
