TiggerG Posted August 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2009 Hi again, wondeirng if anyone can tell me what kind of pillows are available on the Amsterdam? Are they full, firm or soft and fluffy? Down/Feathers?? I usually carry my own but would love not to take up clothes space for my pillow. Appreciate any replys from you recent Amsterdam cruisers! jtl513 Posted August 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2009 IIRC there were six, of varying firmness. If none of them suit you, the steward should be able to come up with one at either extreme.
GSE Guy Posted August 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2009 We were on the Amsterdam in a Verandah room at the end of June and first week of July and our bed had six pillows, two soft, two medium and two firm but no down. Hope this helps.
TiggerG Posted August 14, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted August 14, 2009 Thanks John, I should be just fine with that choice. Oh my, now what else to pack??? Wonderful problem don't you think?
RMLincoln Posted August 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2009 Glad to see the info on pillows. We're booked on Amsterdam in December and my husband is allergic to down. We'll have an outside cabin, not a Verandah, but it sounds encouraging that we can find non-allegic pillows. Great info on this site. I think I'm going to be glad I found you all! Razorback Cruiser Posted August 14, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 14, 2009 do inside cabins have the same choices ?
RuthC Posted August 14, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 14, 2009 do inside cabins have the same choices ? IIRC, I had four pillows in my inside cabin on my last cruise. Now that I think about it, there's always two pillows per bed in my inside cabins.

On S and R Class ships, category BC and above get the "pillow menu" with 2 soft, 2 med and 2 firm. On Vista, Signature and Prinsendam, category SZ/SY and above get the pillow menu. For the other rooms I believe it's 2 per bed that are a medium firmness, but if you need more or a different firmness just let your stateroom steward know and I'm sure they'd be happy to get what you need.
