Where's the pier?

Danno

Recommended Posts

This is Mrs. Danno. I've comandeered the computer to ask a question about our cruise to Bermuda in October. We're going to sail out of New York and I wondered if anyone can tell me where the cruise terminal is? I want to know how close I am to shopping.

I leave the computer for a few minutes and....

Just in case this happens again, repeat after me, "there is absolutely NO shopping in New York City. It was outlawed years ago"!! C'mon gang, I'm counting on you!!

I just hope those of you who were so kind as to give my wife shopping advice will be equally eager to provide me with your VISA numbers icon_wink.gif.

There is no place to shop within walking distance of the pier. You will need to take a cab.

You won't be far from the new Time Warner building at Columbus Circle. It just opened a few weeks ago, with a beautiful shopping mall (one of the few in NYC--we don't usually do malls here!)

Right across from Ground Zero is Century 21, the best discount department store in the world. It's a very quick cab ride down along the river. It's a huge store, with tons of bargains on desinger clothes.

Another nice area to shop is lower 5th avenue, between 14th and 23rd Streets. That's where you can find Bannana Republic and all the stores you might find in an upscale shopping mall.

Enjoy our fair city!

And we are sure that if you don't spend all of Danno's money in New York, you should be able to spend the rest of it on the ship and in Bermuda!

(And you can also hit New York City when you get back.........)

Thanks for the info and all the shopping advice! Probably too much to look at and not enough time to buy, but don't tell Danno! icon_biggrin.gif
