Staterooms by the elevators

We just found out that our staterooms on the Crown Princess are RIGHT by the elevator. Has anyone stayed in a room that's extremely close to the elevator area? If so, was noise a factor?

Princess cabins are very soundproof and we have never had an issue being near one.

However if your inside cabin shares a wall with one I would not reccomend it.

My DH prefers cabins near elevators. He truly dislikes walking down the hallways on cruise ships.

It never fails that there's always a Steward's cart or people walking opposite and there's never enough room....

We have NEVER been bothered by the elevator noise on any of our cruises.

How about elevators and backing on to the laundromat?

The laundromats usually are closed and are locked at 10pm

We like cabins by the elevators...if it is a bit noisy, which has only happen once for us, I just rolled a towel put it under the door....as there was a larger than normal gap under that cabin door.

I've been on the Crown right across the main bank of elevators on the Caribe deck. No sound whatsoever from the elevators, only from guests complaining about the elevators(only if your cabin door is open).

The cabins are all prefab modular units(everything except linens) and built off site and then slid by forklift into a hole cut into the side of the ship. The princess ships have little trouble with side to side noise, but sometimes are prone to noises top to bottom between decks. As a result avoid cabins beneath Horizon Courtand the Night Club.

Because of our need to book an accessible cabin, we are often close to elevators, but have never noticed noise except perhaps when a large group was waiting for elevators such as before or after a show. Those noises are short lived as soon as the wait for elevators is over not a problem:)
