We did a trip to Mackinac Island in June. It was great! But we did come home with Covid. Did a cruise to Alaska in August and was fine. Go Figure!

I agree, I was in the same situation. On the other hand, I did have the sniffles at one time, but tested negative for covid. I imagine some people I came in contact with may have assumed I had covid. You simply shouldn't judge people one way or the other or what their motives may be.

We are booked on the Discovery leaving this Sun. 8/14. It has shown "currently unavailable" for several weeks now. We got an e-mail this morning reminding us to fill out our Arrive Can so obviously it is not being cancelled. No idea about the capacity.

Where did you read this? As I stated above (#16) we had an e-mail on Friday which said we would dock and use tenders.

We are booked on the Discovery scheduled to be in Skagway on the 18th. Received an e-mail from Princess today which said we would dock at the aft berth and a "ship to shore water shuttle" would be used since the walk on the dock is closed.

Yes! let's bring back steerage class so the formal wearers won't have to look at people who don't dress to their standards. I heard a financial adviser say recently "no one is more impressed with your Coach bag than you."

That is exactly the problem here. What your view of the "cruise experience" is supposed to be is not necessarily what other people's view is. There is no reason in my opinion to separate people just because they have different ideas. Enough of that today in the world already. Just accept that people are different, not wrong just because they have different ideas.

I have a smart phone, DH does not. Will it cause problems at embarkation and on ship I have downloaded the app and he cannot?

Anybody that's cruised to Alaska recently - I have several questions about the new seafood menu announced by Princess this spring. Is it the same menu night after night or does it change daily? Is it the same menu in the MDR as the specialty dining? Thanks!

Was in the 1970's when I started cruising. I sailed mostly Costa (was young and single and loved the attention from the Italian crew!) and Sitmar (Which Princess bought later)

As I remember the midnight buffets, they were packed with passengers on the first few nights, then as the cruise went on, fewer and fewer people came. Since there were no buffets in the daytime, all meals were sit-downs and you weren't hungry anymore and the carvings and decorations tended to be somewhat the same.

I fear it's too late reading these boards sometimes!
