  1. Yes, I'd rather do a longer one...heck 7 days is too short anymore!\ BUT ANY cruise is better than NO cruise! But we got a comped 4 day VV (Casino match) in July...we shall see how that goes!
  2. OK, went right over to MSC & found no Bermuda cruises in June but found them in later months, so that was probably the issue. Now you know I am NOT an MSC fan...but thought I'd put my librarian skills to the test!!! Have a GREAT trip...we are contemplating this on the Breakaway (Syd's, ya know) in Nov since I found a 3 week window between home football games! So looking forward to your TR--we have never been to Bermuda. (and dealing with departing from NYC again isn't appealing...)
  3. Well this isn't just about sea days...this is about SHORT CRUISES. I LOVE sea days. And I love a good deal. BUT we cruised Carnival for the 1st time last January--14 days to Hawaii. Everyone said we would hate it after sailing most other mainstream lines. They were wrong--we LOVED it. Mentioned this to bartender & he said the key to Carnival is to avoid the booze cruises (re: SHORT cruises, basically anything under 7 days has potential, and even 7 days do as well). NOW I have never sailed a 3 day cruise on any line...so I cannot comment if NCL is the same. I will say, those prices seem VERY high. We like to stay under $200/day pp WITH drinks/tips/wifi. Have you looked at other lines? 7 day cruises? (perhaps that doesn't work with your schedule)
  4. We take the stairs most of the time but when we moved to Deck 15...I wasn't doing Deck 5 to Deck 15 via the stairs! But we nearly always take the stairs down or up a few flights. HOPING they redo Princess Live during drydock...I know there have been LOTS of complaints about it (ALL the things mentioned here. There is some SERIOUS micromanaging gong on on the Regal. (I've been on the staff end of that crap in a job). Seems management has their ideas of how things should be & passenger or crew preferences (or what logically makes sense!) doesn't' matter. I saw how some crew stayed in their same venues while others were moved around after the 1st leg...Strange directives on Regal (regarding door decorations, poker tournaments, etc)--that they CLAIM come from corporate, but those of us who have recently sailed other Princess ships & know these same directives didn't exist. Bizarre.
  5. 40+ cruises under my belt over 20 years(DH about 30)...Celebrity is our fav line, followed closely by Princess, but RCCL/NCL/Carnival are all right there. (we are 58 & 61) After 2 B2B MSC cruises (one Caribbean/one Europe), won't do them again--though I have heard that Yacht Club, particularly on the older ships is amazing. (we did Retreat on Beyond...got a wonderful price. Enjoyed it, but don't feel it was worth the extra $ for us) Celebrity certainly cannot compare to Crystal, but we find mainstream lines to be more alike than different. Honestly we find more differences from ship to ship than line to line. If we could just get our favorite things from each ship on one ship--well, we would never leave that ship! That itinerary looks AMAZING. We did northern Europe in October & loved it more than we anticipated; I did UK last May & fell in love; took DH this year & he was equally enthralled. Glancing at those itineraries--we LOVED Copenhagen (did a Segway tour; our friends who are in their late 60s talked us into it & it was a BRILLIANT way to see the city!), Amsterdam (do spend some time there if before/after or at least on turnaround day), Belfast, Inverness (Love the Highlands). Many ports we have not been to--wish we could do this one!! Have a WONDERFUL time!!
  6. This why we now always sail with an LED tealight--I turn it on in the bathroom at night for JUST enough light if needed.
  7. Never assume...either way. DM passed 2 years ago & we were CERTAIN she would live another active 20 years (uncle lived into 100s; her sis is 97; DM was 77). She was the active healthy one. DF has been a walking heart attack for 30 years. We were certain he would go long before DM. While he has some mobility & health issues, he is still plugging along...pretty sure he has lived longer than any of his relatives. He's the swarthy one! You NEVER know. My advice--TAKE THE TRIPS. SPEND TIME TOGETHER. Oh, WAIT--you clearly already adhere to that!! DM & I took one last cruise on the Edge in 2021 a few months after her cancer diagnosis. It was magical.❤️‍🩹 Definitely missing her this Mother's Day. Give The Queen an extra hug for me.
  8. I have not found that to be true. My rooms have been $100pp offers...and my Shareholder OBC gets denied every time.
  9. Carnival is VERY generous w/ free cruises. We gamble about the same no matter what cruise line we are sailing. Most offer us nothing. Princess offers us $150-300OBC each for our next cruise. Carnival keeps lobbing those free ones out there!! Even DH, who has sailed Carnival ONCE (last year), still gets them! I think you can have 3 at a time booked, so take advantage when you can! (interesting...met a gal on my NZ cruise in Feb. I had been offered a free cruise w/ enough OBC to offset taxes & fees (I had only sailed Carnival once prior). This gal--who is a seasoned Carnival cruiser--was offered something like $750pp with $1500OBC. So similarly OBC to offset the whole price...but why is mine so much cheaper??!! (both inside cabins) And our gambing habits seemed similar...
  10. Yep, always has had Malibu (coconut rum) & banana liquor (Fav drink of mine that I have been drinking as long as it has been on the menu!)
  11. I brought pastries onboard 2 different times on the Regal in Europe last month so I think you will be good.
  12. It is above Vista Lounge (Allegro dining room is below that on deck 6) I heard a band rehearsing there one afternoon--not disturbing in any way tho. But the latest thing held there is the occasional comedian. They do 630, 830 & 1030 shows. Maybe every few days? Likely we weren't in the room at that late (well, early for us) to hear anything those nights.
  13. I’m from Nebraska. We were surprised how GOOD the steaks were!!
  14. I emailed them & they got back to me in a few hours & I can send them the info thru the email. Awesome!
  15. Final thoughts Absolutely LOVED this cruise!! AMAZING crew, lovely ship, FABULOUS food. Loved the itinerary. LOVED our 1st TA & longest cruise to date. I'm ready to go again!🥰 If there are any questions about the ship, TAs, UK cruises, I will certainly try to answer!
