onthelake Posted March 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2014 My local gym requires 'clean', non-street shoes for the gym. If I want to use the gym on the cruise, do I need a dedicated pair of shoes?
bonsai3s Posted April 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2014 No. I've seen all types of athletic shoes worn inside the gym/fitness center on cruise ships. The only footwear I've seen NOT allowed were flipflops, sandals, and slippers...and of course bare feet. Happy sailing and have a great workout. :)
Rare Keith1010 Posted May 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2014 You don't need dedicated shoes. You just need sports shoes. Keith
StellaHL31 Posted October 27, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2015 I think that's not a good idea you must buy sport shoes for you gym training
OCruisers Posted October 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 27, 2015 Big suggestion is to NOT wear new shoes. They may feel fine when you try them on ... but you never really know until you wear them for a while.
anthonyy7 Posted November 1, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 1, 2015 There are no regulations of type of footwear and I've seen older people in loafers walking on the TM. However I would suggest wearing what you normally wear and they don't have to be clean as a whistle (no mud or anything).

greenfroggie Posted September 7, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 7, 2016 I've seen many people wear long dress pants and a long shirt while walking on a treadmill or using the machines. Very impractical in my mind but to each their own. Footware - any 'athletic looking' shoe generally works.
rjrpar Posted September 19, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2016 You won't believe what you will see in the gym. A lot of first timers that have no clue on proper gym attire. Almost anything goes Sent from my iPhone using Forums
tnt10 Posted April 7, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 7, 2017 Trust me, you'll see everything and anything in the fitness center on a cruise ship. Actually, pretty shocking, it's as if these people have never been in a health club before. Whether the staff enforce the "shoe policy" or not is another story. tnt10
fiona5 Posted October 6, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 6, 2017 I think it is really strange going to the gym and wearing not sports shoes... It is simply dangerous.
