Flat additional charge per person to dine in the Specialty restaurants CROWN GRILL and SABATINIS.

Princess persist in calling it a Cover Charge which it is NOT . The correct term is either a SURCHARGE or SUPPLEMENTARY charge to dine in the Specialty restaurants . (You have already paid for youer dinner in your cruise fare, but if you wish for something a little more upmarket specialty then Crown Grill and Sabatinis are both best in class at sea; BUT you pay a surcharge per person for the privilege .

Costs are an extra $29 per person.

I am 50/50 as to whether it is worth it. We enjoyed the Crown Grill and Sabatinas on our last Golden Princess cruise but the MDR food is just as good IMHO.

We have a 'free' dinner on our next cruise and DH prefers Sabatinis.

Hi all, for specialty restaurants on Golden Princess, do you pay a cover charge after which all food is included, or are menu items individually priced?

As stated 1 set price for dinner in either the Crown Grill or Sabatinis.

You can eat as much as you want. ;)

We were most recently on the Crown and decided the very same thing. We were actually treated better in the MDR. We are going on the Grand next June. We will have to decide whether we are going to pass up the Specialty restaurants.

You have to decide is the extra charge is worth it.. We love dinning out, and on our 13 nighter on the golden we dined at the crown grill twice and sabatinis seven times. For us this made the cruise something special for us. So we drank what we wanted and generally a bottle of wine over dinner, and over the whole cruise is totalled under $100 per day cheaper than the drinks package at $120 for two of us.

Also at Sabatinis we were treated like friends everybody know our names, and they stop and say hello when they saw us round the ship.
