Please help! What did you like about Yacht Club better than Celebrity Suites?

HI! I am having a really tough time deciding! I want to either go on the Celebrity Equinox in a sky suite, or try the Yacht Club. I have the Equinox held. Both cruises would be about the same cost. I am going with my 14 year old daughter. My daughter is kinda shy and doesn't look to make friends on the cruise. We stay together the whole trip. On sea days we like to relax, eat good food, and maybe a little pampering in the spa. We did the Haven on NCL in the past, but it is to expensive now. (Double what I have held on the Equinox or Yacht Club.). We did the Summit last year.

So I guess, of those who did both Celebrity and YC, which suite restaurant did you prefer? Did you see a difference in service?

You really have prices that have the Equinox Sky Suite at the same price as YC?! Normally YC is much cheaper.

I haven't been in a suite on Equinox but I have sailed YC three times on Divina. The thing I loved about YC is Le Muse, the YC restaurant, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, X's Luminae is not. YC has its own pool and hot tub deck; Equinox does not. The Top Sail Lounge is a much more beautiful room than Michael's Club. I find it hard to believe service could be any better than it is in YC.

I booked the Equinox when I was on the Summit and got an incredible deal with the Go Best package and $600 on board credit, so Es the Yacht Club is less but with Celebrity pre paid tips and $600 credit, it evens out.

That makes your decision harder then! But I'd still pick YC for the reasons I gave. Have fun choosing! [emoji16]

I've done YC 3 times and I've had a Sky Suite once on Celebrity - there's no comparison.

YC is a separate area from the rest of the ship with its own pool area - no problem getting loungers here! - including bar and small buffet for breakfast and lunch, its own dedicated lounge at the front of the ship with wonderful views and a snack buffet that's replenished and changed up at regular intervals throughout the day, a concierge 24/7 in a reception area where you're escorted to by a butler at embarkation for check-in, and a dedicated restaurant (in another part of the ship on Fantasia Class). A YC booking offers all-inclusive drinks package and minibar items, too. Priority boarding is usually at a separate, dedicated YC area (depending on embarkation port).

Celebrity has Michael's Club (though I think that may be changing) where the concierge is available at set times and a dedicated restaurant where, in my experience, the service was atrocious! We had a great butler as he serviced the Penthouse suite next to ours so was the head man and that's about the most positive thing I can say about X suite experience. Drinks aren't even included, unless part of a promotion, unlike YC bookings. The snobbery we came across from other suite guests was something I'd never witnessed in YC - I can't begin to describe how bad it was! Perhaps it's due to the outrageous prices some pay for the higher level suites. YC doesn't have the equivalent of Royal, Penthouse, etc. levels - just YC3 Royal Suites. There are only 2 of them so most people in YC have paid similar prices and are in the same type of suite so there isn't the opportunity (for want of a better word) to feel superior to others.

Suffice to say, if it weren't for the fantastic itinerary I did on X taking in Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Philippines, I would have no fond memories of cruising in a Sky Suite. When I think back on any one of my 3 YC experiences, there are so many wonderful memories of the onboard experiences that the itineraries aren't even a factor and each cruise had something stand-out. In fact, we usually stayed onboard at most of the ports of call to enjoy the peace and quiet in the YC enclave. The service was fantastic and we've met some wonderful people in YC.

Big fan of Celebrity but I would definitely go with the YC. There is no comparison. Having you own pool, lounge at the front of the ship and all the little perks that come with the YC beat the offering of Celebrity's suite program. I also like the fact that the passengers are more international in nature. Basically, I think you will find it a more special trip.

Thank you so much for your response. I do have a question for you and I can't seem to find it. Can you get a hot breakfast to the room? And also usually once on a trip I like to get dinner to the room. Thank you again for all your responses

No, neither hot breakfast nor dinner are served in-cabin - even in YC.
