Hey,

Does Carnival offer Wifi on the ships for free or is it a pay service? I see where they have plans, but I also see where it talks about the HUB app and says "The app works with the ship’s free Wi-Fi."

Wifi is free for checking schedules & maps. However, if you want to send messages to others on board or get an internet package, you will pay for that.

Don't expect anything more than 250kbps speed

The HUB app works for free connected to the ship's wifi. For anything else, you will need to pay the going rate.

We offer three different types of plans that can be purchased for either a 24 hour period or for the entire length of the cruise at a discount - price for voyage plans vary by length of cruise:

--Value ($16 USD per day) – Surf all your favorite sites, including e-mail, news, sports, weather, banking and finance. Note: Does not support Skype calling or music streaming (such as Spotify).

--Premium ($25 USD per day) – From e-mail to Skype, our Premium plan promises the fastest possible connection, at speeds up to 3 times faster than our Value Plan. Supports Skype video calling, where coverage allows.

Breeze $119 for what they consider their fastest speed which is terrible.

Ship wifi is terrible. The splendor last month was the worst. I usually get social media plan to keep in touch with home while on a cruise, but I think from now on I will just skip in and use wifi while in port.
