granni10 Posted August 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2015 thinking of going on the splendor nov.29th have a few questions for recent travelers. Who is the current cruise director and how is he? Are there different shows each night and are they repeated during the 7 days? And is the music live in the show room or anywhere else on the ship? Thank you soo much for any information on these questions
youknownothingjonsnow Posted August 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2015 My family of 4 went on it in January. Malcolm was the cruise director and he was fabulous! There is live music in the Spectacular Spectacular and in many other little venues on the ship. The shows varied each night, but there were 2 nights without shows. RHilla619 Posted August 14, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2015 There was different shows each night in the main show room, as well as the comedy club. 4 different comedians over the 8 nights, doing a different routine each time. I thought the entertainment was excellent!

Last cruise was a board splendor We had Malcolm on Miracle several years ago and can only say our opinion of him was "meh". He wasn't a poor CD it just seemed like he was often holding back, like he was always on the verge of saying or doing something really funny or entertaining but then would stop and leave you feeling like, "that's it?". Perhaps he's improved his CD schtick in the last 4+ years? Anyway, it doesn't matter for the OP because Malcolm won't be on Splendor for the cruise she is contemplating. I just cruised with Malcolm for the 3 or 4th time. The 1st time he was an Assit Cd. I found him on this last cruise one of my best ever CD. He was everywhere and involved with everything and always friendly. Sorry to see him go.

Cyber Kat Posted August 15, 2015 #11 Share Posted August 15, 2015 The current CD on the Splendor is Kevin Donohue. We had him as CD our Pride cruise in June and he was fabulous. Best CD I've ever sailed with. Very energetic - always around the ship interacting with guests and other crew members. His music trivia, Love & Marriage game and Q&A were great fun!
