Majesty of the Seas

Fantastic crew on that ship!

Thinking of taking a 4 day on the Majesty to Cocoa Cay and Nassau before boarding Oasis for a 7 day cruise at the end of October. Any pros/cons to this ship that you can think to tell us? Are there really no balcony cabins unless you book a suite? How is the entertainment? Would you go on the Majesty again? I would like to experience a smaller ship and Cocoa Cay.

I have only been on Carnival and Royal and have enjoyed both, and I don't think I have ever had a room steward that was bad. Crew great. On one ship, a bartender was a little snippy, but they are so overworked that one just overlooks these things.

Yes, the only balcony staterooms are Junior Suites and better.

Entertainment is typical, a couple of production shows and headliners such as comedian, singers, tribute groups, etc.

We plan to go on Majesty again in a few months.

Thanks!

The only junior suites I saw that were open (several) were under the lido deck and probably noisy. Very expensive for a 4 day cruise. I guess ocean view this time.

We did a 3 night last weekend, had a great time, crew and fellow passengers were great. Windjammer food was surprisingly good. Check in was delayed due to Coast guard inspection so Bar and Windjammer was crazy for the first few hours, after that no issues.

Only downside was the bed, if there was room we would have slept on floor but after enough beer who cares

Happy to answer any questions

The Majesty was my first RC cruise, back in 2001. We had a super room steward, named Junier. Wouldn't it be kool if he's still there. lol. Anyhoo, have Majesty booked again for Nov 2017. Looking forward to seeing her again.

Majesty has a Johnny Rockets now? Is breakfast still free there?

The pol bar is always crazy until sometime after the muster drill. The short cruise drives a drinking frenzy.

Had cruised on former twin sister Monarch many times, and love the crew on that one.

Looking forward to our first time on MJ next week. Happy to hear her crew is above average also.

Anniversary cruise.

W just cruised on Majesty a few weeks ago. I was worried about being in a small room with no balcony, but we had an AWESOME time!! The only time the small room bothered me was the last day when I was trying to pack & my husband was trying to nap....lol. We always found a place to sit near the pool. We had late seating dinner but only made it once. My husband didn't want to miss Karaoke so we ate in the Windjammer. A first for me for dinner, and it was fine. First night I had great roast chicken, and a seat bu the window while the sun was setting. We love the smaller ships! We love the dance parties & Piano Bar sing-a-longs and that's what this cruise as all about. My only complaint was in finding coffee & cookies around 5:00 pm. WJ didn't open til 6:30, and I don't like Starbucks. It was times like this I missed the Promenade cafe.

Not going to be able to get my early morning Lattes in the CL or DL on MJ. :( That's the one thing I will really miss. Love that Latte machine.

Besides Starbucks, where is the favorite coffee machines for our morning Java? I can't remember where it was on Monarch.

Cafe Latte-Tudes, deck 5, near the shops.

I don't know if this has been mentioned. If I remember correctly, this ship does not have the steam rooms or saunas.

Or the DL, or the CL, or specialty restaurants (except Johnny Rockets), or the Promenade, slides, flow rider, or balconies unless you book a suite, etc. etc. But the little ship is just sooo cute and from what I hear, the crew goes out of it's way to make up for the lack of features that the big ships have. Will check her out for our first time next week. ;)

In it's day it really WAS the big ship of the ocean liners! :D
