Chef's table is it worth it ?

We did Chef's Table and I'm very happy we did, but I found the quality of food in the Steakhouse noticably better than Chef's Table.

Chef's Table's food was prepared more in line with chef's/foodie standards (e.g., complex sauces). In addition, Chef's Table is about more than the dinner, it's the amuse bouche before-hand, the demo of warm melting cake made in front of your eyes, the kitchen tour, and all the additional information the chef/tour guide imparts.

I recommend the Chef's Table 100% for the experience, and feel it's easily worth $75, but for repeat experience I do Steakhouse every cruise but Chef's Table never again. Do not expect the type of foodie experience you would get at Daniel or Bouley in Manhattan, or Le Cinq or Boutary in Paris. As I said earlier, the food quality is lacking. The preparation is chef-inspired, but far from world class.

If you liked that, you should try Chef's Table...

We had it booked but I canceled because I didn't think we would like it. After talking to other people on the ship who went, I was sorry we canceled. Our next cruise is on the Magic, and I heard that it takes place in the kitchen on that ship so, we'll skip it on the Magic. I wonder if the Sunshine has a private dining room for it? We'll be on her the beginning of next year.

Regardless of where they do it, it is still tons of fun. It is great to sit with other passengers who are willing to pay the price tag for some wonderful creations. It is also quite interesting to go into the kitchen, start with champagne and tidbits and make chocolate melting cake.

And don't hesitate to tell him if there is anything you absolutely can't eat - they will adjust accordingly.

Also, if you drink all the wine you will be impaired!

One word of advice. If you don't absolutely love your first bite of any course, don't eat the rest. We were both so stuffed before the last pre-dessert course that it was impossible to enjoy the amazing desserts.

This is so true, we were so stuffed we had a hard time sleeping. Pace yourself, you do not have to finish every plate. The food is amazing served Tapas style. The wine is poured endlessly. I do agree with one poster, wish they would move to a more romantic setting. My wife liked eating in the kitchen, me, not so much.

If you are a foodie it is worth it, I have done it once and plan to do it again on the Conquest in October.

Not really a foodie but thinking about doing it .Already have cheers program so the wine is no big deal

We were on the Conquest last month, and my husband and I agree it was one of the most memorable things we have ever done. After appetizers in the galley, we were escorted to a beautiful private dining room to the side of the mdr. The food, wine and ambiance were all outstanding. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

I would think you really have to be a "foodie" or be VERY open minded to food.:')

We are NOT foodies, or at least, I am not.

It just doesn't look appetizing in the least to me, and especially for the cost.

I am not into "foam" and all of that other weird stuff.........

Again, it seems to be super popular, but it's definitely not for everyone.:')

Is wine included with it?

To me its like a excursion. You don't know if you will like it till you do it. If you don't like it you can always say you tried it and make jokes about it :D

Thinking about booking this for November on the Dream. Did it last summer on RCCL Adventure of the Seas, and it was amazing. Took 2.5 hours, and did not include a tour of the kitchen. We definitely drank more than enough wine to cover the cost (though we had a beverage package). Our kids were with us, and they seemed to enjoy it even though they were 5 and 6 at the time -- iPads are great entertainers!

Yes, red and white house wines are included with the cost

On ours we also got a glass of champagne, and after-dinner coffee and tea. One couple didn't drink and they provided them with juice and soda.

Upthread someone mentioned it being in the kitchen. They all begin in the kitchen and move to another location for the meal. But maybe one of the ships you remain there the entire time? Honestly I find that odd, it would ruin the ambiance. Maybe someone can confirm this is the case?

I agree with the masses here: Chef's Table was one of our most memorable cruising experiences.
